B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

Fridays will be a round table just talking football, draft/college the main focus but we're gone have a round table of a few guys.

Any questions you might have on a player, team, w/e drop a line.

Gotta get @Off The Grid at least as a regular guest. That would be must listen programming. :D

Thanks, man. Honored!! :p

My Draft Game isn't Ready For Prime Time, yet ~ still too developmental for my taste, even after almost 8 years of it. It'll probably be a few years, yet, as I continue to be heavily involved in other stuff...But truly honored for the mention, Hermano.

I'm looking forward to this one. Curious what you think of Brown. He looks like he has a ton of potential to me in that Auburn front 7.
He was def the best imo but that's def a bit of projection in terms of translation to the NFL. Def had the best combo of power & quicks. Needs a better plan, counter but lots to work w.

Daily reminder Randy is the goat. I'm not allowed in Rice/Moss thread lol.

Tony Dungy changed his defense for him.

Mike Zimmer
“I remember that we had to line the receiver on scout team two yards offsides every time we played against him because he was going to get on us so fast,”

Any questions shoot ur shot & lemme know.

Just watched him (2 games) after picking up on him from PFF. Not the most athletic in the world or that dominant in the run game but he has good skills in the passing game with the ball in front of him and catches the ball like an offensive player. If we're looking for a pass defending linebacker again next year, Edwards could be a good option. one to track. What's particularly nice is that he's listed at 240lbs so within our benchmark which is rare for coverage linebackers.

Edwards is another guy that some teams will love. Great patience & burst at the line just like a RB looking to hit the hole. Hes great there. Very smart. Brings a bundle when he hits. Always knows where the run is run, he cant stop talking out there. Not a coverage for the most part but isnt bad when hes in a pocket n sees it coming. 1/2 down guy plug/play.

TJ Edwards? This is the opposite of how I see him. OK versus the run, much better in coverage.

I went overboard . I just really liked his IQ. To me that's how he wins in all areas. Very good at diagnosing well before the snap. At times he puts himself in such good position in both run/pass but his upside is absolutely coverage.

I just think he doesn't move particularly great but he plays w good leverage & has + instincts.

Absolutely. His play diagnosis in the passing game is terrific and whilst he's not especially dynamic athletically, his game sense certainly helps in both the run and pass games. I'd like to see him be more assertive in taking on blocks from linemen. He's not terrible but he lacks the punch that top linebackers have. He'll be a good one to watch this year because if he progresses in the run game, he'll likely become a favourite of mine and will likely be good value because he lacks the athleticism to likely go in the first two rounds. I believe he's had 7 interceptions in the last two years. His production is not to be sniffed at.

Def have my eye on him. One of the best combos & all around wr out there.

Zach Allen & Jelks will be very high on my PTP list. Love both.

Stanley has been my guy since before the draft. So much potential there. Surprised his name hasn't been brought up more. At times he displayed everything u wanna see. Him & Fant should have big years.

Fant is so smooth. Runs routes & glides like a wr. Can work all 3 levels. Love when hits slants/post/crossers, very sharp plant & just burst outta it.

Really big fan of the Iowa boys. If Fant duplicates his production, then he will probably end up in the first round. Right now, my semi-realistic QB + WR draft is Stanley x2: Nathan Stanley and Stanley Morgan Jr. I think both would be a great fit here.
