What to Watch For, Patriots - Washington Preseason Opener

Steve Balestrieri

They seem to be taking the same approach with Wynn as they did with Solder, they’ll let him learn the ropes for a year under Dante Scarnecchia

Nothing personal against Hart and Perillo, but the studio segments are just annoying interruptions for those of us who are actually trying to watch the action on the field and make our own judgments about the players. Same thing with the sideline "celebrity interviews". Both totally unnecessary.

Show the plays and the players and analyze in voiceover (if you must). We don't actually need to SEE anyone putting their two cents in.

"What to watch for" is any and all of the players working for roster spots - if the TV broadcast will actually allow us that privilege.

Thumbs up as usual. Always thorough reports appreciated, especially this time of year. WR should be one to watch also.

Announcers in other sports do the same and it's a pain in the a## to viewers who want to actually watch the game action....

After watching the broadcast last night - same old s**t. Maybe worse. The "color guys/analysts" have completely taken over.

I felt bad for Socci trying to do the play-by-play. I don't think he ever got an opportunity to say what players were on the field at any point - who was lined up at WR, on the OL, at LB, in the secondary, etc. Not that he didn't try, but Nink and Zo were continually chattering over him with total nonsense and even through plays.

Those guys really need to be informed that they are NOT the stars of the show, and told to STFU during the action and save it for the breaks. Show some damn respect for the players and fans.

you want NFL football as it was back in the 80's & 90's. It's long gone. Turdell made sure of this as soon as he assumed the position of Uber-Fuhrer.
