This is a great read. Seems that defensive players are enjoying this new defense that Flores brought in. Expect the defense to be more aggressive.

Fast defense, well glass mostly full gives us High and VanNoy and 2 young contenders. Clayborn and Flowers and recovered Rivers and Wise. I hope the LB/DE all are healthy, improve. Worry if one or two don't.

Flores is a nice wildcard for this season. We worry about the defense but maybe it will be a lot better under new leadership.

Although honestly I think it lives and dies with Hightower's health.

I say that every year about the Pats fantasy D. I MAY take them as a backup. I want the Rams D this year.

They should be one of the first 2 off the board. On paper the Chargers look good as well as a sleeper defense

They seemed to solve this issue in the 2014/15 season when Revis and Browner arrived.

Ever since then (most of) the DBs (most of the time) have been better about getting their head around and playing the ball.

It’s not like there were voluminous changes but the changes seem to be the right ones if they go as planned.

Early down DEs of Flowers, Clayborn and year 2 Wise is really the prototype we want.
The question is who teams with flowers as the sub package DE? Protyoical would be Rivers not clayborn or wise ( with them getting reps inside in those packages).
At DT Shelton is the big grinding NT we need to move Brown off the nose where he thrives. Valentine is a protyoical backup to Shelton. Guy, Butler Wise are the depth.
Hightower and Van Noy should play he vast majority of the snaps. Hopefully the rookies can add better depth. I’d love to see us being in another Harris, but this time one that has something left as a security blanket.

“The way that the guys kind of absorb it a little bit different. We meet a little different, talk about things a little different. It’s just small quirky things that you can’t necessarily put a finger on, but it’s obvious whenever you can kind of have first-year guys come in or even guys who maybe got signed that can pick things up.

Patricia ran BB's defense. Flores will run BB's defense. Dumbing down the playbook isn't going to make a damned bit of difference when Roberts hits the wrong gap, and the RB scampers for 30, and GTFB is still the way the Patriots get to the SB with undermanned defenses.

Flores is a relative unknown, but got me to thinking he might be better than we know as there were several teams that wanted to interview him for their HC position last year.. either that or he was just another "token".

Maybe a BC grad from Brooklyn, can communicate more effectively than a RPI grad.. but then that is an assumption that the RPI had communication issues.
