Who is the insane one?

Once again still you.

I've been open to the idea that butler did something, I've asked that if he did, we should know what it was and not have to deal with rumor mongers like yourself.

You're the one who has his feet stuck in cement refusing to acknowledge that BB made the coaching decision to lose the game before kickoff even happened. He got 100% outcoached.

The patriots led the game with 2:45 left.
Then they had the ball with 2:30 a tome out and the 2 minutes warning at their 25 yard line after just completing 3 cubaecutuve 75 yard TD drives with the GOAT QB who had thrown for 500 yards.
But the game was lost before kickoff. Mmmmmkay.

The bolded was the only reason the Patriots were even in the game. The game, however, was lost the moment Butler was put on the bench. That's something you've even admitted to yourself. So yeah... the game was lost before kickoff.

I also love the circular reasoning used in this thread. I sincerely hope you all never apply that line of reasoning to sociopolitical issues.

It's honestly a lost cause with SBB, I honestly truly believe that hes just in here trolling.

The amount of logical hoops a person would need to jump through to wind up with the mindset he has, would just be highly improbable at best.

BB didn't get out coached---> BB made a coaches decision ---> The defense got outplayed because of it ---> It's not BB's fault.

That's some Mental health issue level denial.

Some posters remind me of that Jam song:

The bitterest pill is mine to take
If I took it for a hundred years, I couldn't feel anymore ill

You're the lost cause and troll. I'm here defending the head coach of this team your the one trolling that his ego is too big and that he deliberately tanked the game. I have one point and it is it not that hard to get that BBs actions were forced by Butler.

That's exceptionally hard to believe. A quarter or a half maybe. I can only think of a couple of things that would warrant a full game and they would also warrant not even dressing him, let alone not playing him on a ST snap.

Why is it dishonest?
Do you think BBs "style" has something to do with that record?
Do you think a different coach like Pete Carroll would have handled it differently?
The point isn't which style might have been better at that moment. The point is why would BB on the biggest stage suddenly change his M.O.?
Using hindsight I wish Butler played but I accept BBs discipline as part of the success it would be dishonest to ignore it now that it might have hurt.
It's the big picture view. It's the correct approach.
No, it's not. Deflecting to prior seasons and success is not a valid argument nor the "correct approach". It's intellectually dishonest.

Wow. Track records don't count? Previous seasons don't count?

Historic record breaking two decade long runs don't count?

A HC and a QB who were at the root of an argument determining whether they were a part of one or two dynasties don't count?

Of course they count.

If a player made the kind of mistake that BB the coach made, BB would have cut him.

You and your IF statement arguments are perplexing. But I'll play along.

IF that were the case then No BB wouldn't have cut him because BB would have known that the player either never truly made a mistake or he would've benched him to prevent such a mistake.

What type of pathetic straw man is this? You're embarrassing yourself. None of those things are relevant nor valid justifications for benching Butler in the SuperBowl and refusing to adjust while the defense got gashed. Stop it.

Stop it? Yikes. Hope you weren't stomping while you were typing that.

Phew boy..

My point is very clear and I'm ok if you don't like it or agree with it but belching out "Straw man" or "dishonest" or " lazy" or any other disparaging adjectives you'd like to use to belittle my position in this argument instead of actually arguing is embarrassing yourself.

BB who has a history of making tough decisions, which has led to a historic two decade long ride, benched Butler during the Super Bowl. He had a reason to do so whether you agree with it or not.

So far you and your counterparts have said that there was probably a reason but it probably wasn't good enough although you don't know what the reason was. Correct?

I say I'll trust the decision making process of the Greatest Coach of all time because thus far it has led the Pats to an unprecedented historic run.
