Hogan (can play slot, as he did when Edelman and Amendola were out)
Matthews (is very experienced and good in the slot)
Patterson (our KR and #4 or #5 WR)
Britt or Dorsett (if one can look good, he should make the 53 as an outside backup)
Berrios or McCarran (if we carry a punt returner as a #5 WR)

Mitchell is the wildcard

Yea I think thats it.

I think Matthews will do very well here.

Might put Britt over Dorsett.

I think Cherrios sticks b/c he can field punts (unless he melts during TC).

Dorsett is having a good camp. His speed willingness to block, and experience should get him a spot on the roster.

Edelman's suspension has opened the door for Berrios or McCarran.

If Mitchell can get on the field, he sticks for sure.

Dorsett is hanging by a thread. A receiver who can’t get open and make catches isn’t very useful.

Yup, agree with the OP.

- Mitchell not running routes yet is BAD news. The guy was supposed to be 'close' back in January/February. So, I think he's done.

My current guess:

Hogan, Britt, Matthews, Dorsett, Patterson, and Slater to start the season.

Mitchell to PUP/IR.

Edelman to suspended list.

this would make the most sense to me. Then by the time Edelman comes back, we will know who needs to be cut, whether it be Britt or Dorsett. Or even Matthews.

The list is fine as long as one of the is our punt returner. Otherwise, we don't need that many with Edelman coming back in 4 games and Mitchell on PUP.

Pretty much. Needs the play to be drawn up in a way that he can just blow by the defense straight down the side line. And even then his hands aren't the most reliable.

Don't count out Cyrus Jones as the PR. If he can not fumble the ball that is.... I am thinking it is his only chance to make the roster as he likely won't be one of our top 3 CB's. And Patterson *might* be our PR as well...

I would like to see Brady work with some of these new guys. He seems to work with guys that he knows already like Edelman.

All the physical talent but yet he seems to have trouble running routes and getting open.

Mitchell has always had issues with injuries. It’s a damn shame. I don’t know what to expect when it comes to him.

You should apply to be the wide receivers coach Pimp!

Britt - good player, Rutgers connection, huge, he sticks
Hogan - reliable, experienced
Berrios - nursing pectoral injury from combin, really like him, he's my binky

Patterson - KR/PR, gadget player, can't separate, bad hands (jet sweep, quick out screen, size mismatch if he's willing to block downfield)

Dorsett - 12 catches last year, not expecting anything
Mitchell - still rehabbing knee, not expecting anything
Matthews - 23 catches last year, hoping he can bounce back
McCarron - practice squad last year, not expecting much
Hollister - practice squad last year, not expecting much

I guess I'd go with Hogan, Britt, Berrios, Patterson and either Mitchell/Matthews.

Maybe keep an extra TE or RB and use Burkhead in the slot.

Edelman is a key for us. We need him back and playing close to 100% of the plays.

without edelman the WR group is not that talented. i expect a lot of double teaming of Gronk and flooding the middle with defenders. dare the pats to beat you deep

Matthews is legit. He has some stat like the most yards from LOS over the last 3 years . From the slot or something . If he is healthy which he sems to be, he is a star here.

Him Hogsn and Britt are a sold trio

I absolutely love the Matthews signing. I fully expect him to stick and contribute. He was the first on, last off the field the other day. That’s a good sign, at least to start.
