A media guy I know told me he got texts from his insiders that Edelman is being suspended for 4 games for Ped use and he is currently appealing it. Take it for what it's worth.

After not taking the guy serious who told us about Edelman visiting a bar using a scooter because of his foot injury 2 years ago I will give this more than the benefit of the doubt. PEDs to speed up the recovery process at his age coming off an ACL tear don't look totally out of place.

Early thought on OTAs and Minicamp.

Happy about

Young CBs. I knew going in guys like J C Jackson and Keion Crossen would have a good chance to impress and they have no disappointed. Obviously Dawson is a guy you pencil in considering where he was picked. I think they will have good depth at this spot.

WR depth. I thought Matthews was a very underrated signing for this team. He is a guy who has produced well and has a track record as a legit NFL quality WR and should be one of their top offensive options. Britt was a guy I was less sure of hearing very good things. I like Mitchel and Berrios as much as the next guy but with proven NFL options like those appearing to be working out it is hard to justify keeping guys like that on the 53 over them. Also Edelman looking healthy.

TE Niklas - You don't want to over use Gronk and you want options behind him in the passing game. Allen couldn't seem to get it done but so far so good for Niklas

Unhappy about

Wynn - I am not criticizing his play but his placement. If he isn't here to be their LT why did they draft him so high? I don't like how much he is playing at guard. A young guy like him needs ever LT snap he can get and from what I've read he has barely played there at all. I know Thuney has had some injuries but I don't care. Put the kid at LT and see what he has.

Safety depth - Chung IMO has started to show a little regression and not addressing safety this year was probably a mistake. Richards sucks plain and simple. He had 1 good play for the Patriot since coming here and hasn't shown much are practice. As much as I like the young and talent at CB I tink the safety position needs an overhaul and McCourty and Chung are starting to get past their primes.

You would think that this would leak out by this point. So idk

Yes. There you go.. April 16th:

From the very first thread that dealt with the rumors of Brady maybe not being there for OTAs.

And for someone that didn’t care, you sure did seem interested in that thread. There were quite a few replies in there that were borderline hysterical.

I have said it dozens of times. This is about leadership and how in the past he used to accept hard coaching and talked how important OTAs were to him personally only to do a 180 in the last 12 months. None of this has to do with his projected performance which obviously will be totally unaffected by him missing OTAs. It has to do with him changing his perspective on certain things.

His leadership obviously hasn’t and won’t change. Pivoting to that doesn’t make it so. What HAS changed is the fact that he’s now a year into his 40s and just came off of a 19 game season in which he was hit with high frequency. This is about keeping his body as fresh as possible without missing the more important sessions which, in the end, benefits the team more than appeasing someone on PatsFans.com and showing up for a glorified pitch and catch and calisthenics session.

Thesis theoretically treue, bit really how it works.

If a WR does get Brady's confidence, he won't enter the season not doing as well as he would be doing with more Brady reps. He probably won't be on the team, or Brady won't throw to him.

The bubble players need time with Brady.
And he and they will get that in MC and TC, with the added benefit that these practices will eventually be fully padded or shorts and shells which is where the timing ultimately gets worked out.

If he can do 80% of the blocking that Allen did and give something in the passing game he has a shot to be TE3.

No reason to rush him. They also took their time with Solder before making him the LT. Patience.

They had Light during Solder's rookie year. They need to rush him to see what they have cause right now the day 1 starter at LT is a mystery.

Interesting. Goes against what Bedard wrote about him having a slow start. It is just OTA / mini camp. Lets give those young kids some time..

You are the one pivoting on it. I was perfectly clear the entire time on my perspective and have the posting record to back that.

But your straw man is so easy to knock down. Better to attack that than actually discuss what you and many of us actually said.

That's more along the lines of what I was expecting. I have high hopes for him and can't wait until the pads come on at TC to see what he can do.
