I'm not sure why everyone skips the second half of the quote:

"At the end of the day, if you don’t feel like that you shouldn’t be in the league.”

It's just like every single draft prospect saying "I'm the best at X position." No one really takes it seriously. Walker is a really good TE. He plays hard and practices hard. Let him self-aggrandize a bit if it makes him feel better.

floats a quote like that then that brings us (sports fans) in to talk crap.

But he could be a little more modest and say "I'm a top 5 TE in the league." I'm not sure that's true, but to come right out and say you are better than Gronk is just plain crazy.

He doesn't seriously believe that. He wanted people talking about him and everyone indulging in this is giving him the attention he wants.

It's fine. I don't think he really believes it but he believes it's what he should say.

Clearly one of the top 5. I'd rank them Gronk, Kelce, Walker, Ertz and the 5th is arguable. I like Ertz more as a pass catcher but Walker does probably have a better all around game. Nothing wrong with being confident as the 3rd best TE in the NFL.

If you want to say he is 4th that's fine too but i don't see anyone else besides Ertz you can even arguably put over him.
