Can we just all take a second to be in awe of this stat?

You might check out the last time we didn't have a place in the playoffs or tie for one.

or division wins or ties
or 10+ wins since 2001 (out of 17 seasons)

Awwww. That's an amazing fête of consistency.

But I can hear the What-have-you-done-for-me-tomorrow crowd (chicken littles, trolls, Edward G. Robinson as Johnny Rocco, demagogues, know-it-alls, Butlerites, Fancy Fans, glass eaters) screaming in my right ear tell me, "It's about Super Bowls and we should have 8 in a row! We should have more!"

"The game has passed BB by"...
"Has senility set in for BB??"...
"BB wastes draft picks"...

This should be required viewing like the aversion therapy scene in Clockwork Orange for all of the doubters and Felger listeners...

12 wins is low for this team

Counting 2000 ...

18 seasons
15 playoff appearances (83%)
12 AFCCG appearances (80% of playoff appearances)
8 Superbowl appearances (67% of AFCCG appearances)

5 EFFING RINGS!

Frank McCloud: He knows what he wants. Don't you, Rocco?
Johnny Rocco: Sure.
James Temple: What's that?
Frank McCloud: Tell him, Rocco.
Johnny Rocco: Well, I want uh ...
Frank McCloud: He wants more, don't you, Rocco?
Johnny Rocco: Yeah. That's it. More. That's right! I want more!
James Temple: Will you ever get enough?
Frank McCloud: Will you, Rocco?
Johnny Rocco: Well, I never have. No, I guess I won't.

For this run, I only look at this century, the seasons that started after January 1, 2001. In these 17 seasons, the patriots have NEVER failed to be in the playoffs or tie for a playoff spot. In the 2 seasons(2002 and 2008) that we failed to reach the playoffs, we tied for the division.

As the Bills (and Krafts) have taught, the goal is to be competitive for the division and playoffs. Since 2001, we have always succeeded.

And none of these stats would have happened if he kept that stupid Pat the Patriots logo. Glad Ray Lewis killed Pat.

2001-17

NE 209-63-0 .768%, 15 years in the playoffs, 27-10 playoff records 73%, 8 SB appearances 5 SB wins.

Next closest.

Pitt 179-92-1 66.0%, 12 years in playoffs, 15-10 60%, 3 SB appearances, 2 SB wins

30 more regular season wins, 12 more playoff wins, 5 more SB appearances and 3 more SB wins then the Set of Steak Knife Squeelers.
