I wanted Lamar Jackson but I'm happy with Sony Michel.

It feels like Bill trusts that Tom will be playing for another 4-5 years at a high level because if he thought QB was urgent. He would have drafted Jackson or traded up for Darnold or Rosen. Bill does not usually do this but if we really needed a QB at this moment, he would have. I mean I cant think of another QB available that could perform at such a high level as Brady.

Lamar probably lacks some of the most desirable traits for a quarterback

1) Hes Innacurate
2) Does not really read a defense well
3) He seems kind of dumb based on his test scores

I do not understand the obsession with him by some of the fans here

When you realize that Lamar Jackson is about to steal your job.

Its more so that the Patriots showed significant, significant interest in him

yep josh mcdaniels literally hosted him for a visit. Patriots worked him out twice. They even said the interest was legit

Yeah if he had lasted till round 2 maybe... but it looks like the Pats felt Michel was a better bet in round 1 than Jackson.

It would have been interesting to see him come to New England, In the end we made "safe" picks.

Someone will click "disagree" in 3...2...1

We still have one or two years to find the perfect heir of the GOAT. Next year, there won't be more than 4 teams need a QB in first two rounds. Next yr is the yr we find our QB of the future.

His productivity was off the charts and improved each year in college. He di a good job reading defenses and his completion % was affected by his receivers having a far higher drop % than other QB's taken higher.

As an example Randy Moss had a wonderlic score of 12, according to Tom Brady Moss was the smartest player Brady ever played with and BB confirmed that Moss had an off the charts football IQ.

I number doesn't define a person's intelligence, education and environment have a lot to do with how articulate a person is and doesn't NECESSARILY define if a person is smart.

I am guessing BB and McD talked with the player and with Petrino about the player.; they understood his ability to pick up information.

Looking at the draft board when they passed at 31, I thought there was a good chance he could drop very close to the Pats with the SF pick. But I will never know, neither will you. We will see what type of coaching he gets and how he develops.

I really was expecting to draft him. My disappointment was tempered by the fact I did like the two picks the Pats did make, but, man, did his interview at the end really reflect poorly on him.

How does Randy’s score compare with other wide receivers. Jackson’s with other QBs?

A wonderlic score like Jackson had is concerning. Atleast to me. I don’t care about drops. Watch the tape. He misses too many throws. He’s innacurate. drops or not. And from what I see he struggles to read defenses like many others in this class

Holy sh!t, some of you guys overreact about not adding another QB just because they didn’t trade all of their high picks away to take a gamble on guys that basically no one could agree on, and then passed on freaking Lamar Jackson.

There are still QBs left such as Rudolph, Falk, Lauletta, White (the guy I prefer), Woodside, etc.
They can also still add Kanoff from Princeton in the late rounds or possibly even an UDFA. It’s possible that Bill and Josh may have liked one of the prospects, but it wouldn’t have made any sense to give away 23,31, and 43 in order to have moved up that far.

I want Kanoff and Rudolph or Lauletta.
Falk I feel doesnt have a NFL arm.
Maybe the Patriots dont agree with me.

All due respect your just wrong here. If you don't like Lamar that's fine, honestly Idc about that but don't like for they right reasons. Basically its ok to think he'll fail, not your type etc but you sound Polian when 1-3 have been disproven time again.

Were Tim Tebow & Geno Smith accurate? People love to point to Watson either purposely or ignorantly leaving out he lived off short, behind the los stuff. So accuracy is accuracy but its always defined by cmp%.

Theres many games, clips etc that show him reading a defense very well, being very accurate , throwing his guys open on numerous NFL throws and again he ran an offense that more pro style than any QB drafted Top 50 this year.

There are people a lot smarter than me that have shown hes able to do just what your saying he cant do.

And even though we didn't pick him in the 1st Baltimore invested a 1st which shows they think hes worth it.

So your telling me he’s accurate and can read a defense? If it’s always completion percentage. I’m not disputing it, in his case I just don’t care for it even though it actually supports my side, why is it low. 59 percent? That’s garbage

Before this off season I would have agreed but not anymore. It's quite clear that Brady himself and with the organization is at a year to year basis now. Furthermore Brady isn't the only aging QB that needs to be replaced. The whole 2004 class, Brees definitely need an heir too not to mention that I think Bortles, Keenum and Tannehill will get atleast some competition, if not replaced.

So we definitely need a QB this year. Every year to learn behind Brady is invaluable and increases the next QBs chances to succeed tremendously

If NFL GMs were sure that Jackson can do what you say he can do, he'd have been the unquestioned #1 overall pick.
