2018 mocks

I think the draft is deep at corner you can get a guy in the third or 4th with upside.
Holton Hill,McFadden the kid from BC the kid from Colorado
JC Jackson in the 6th if you need a 3rd or 4th corner with upside this draft has that in spades.

True enough. There are a lot of corners with potential to be good complementary players in our secondary. I'd be very happy with Alexander, however, because I think he's a true #1 corner, and those other players are not. Pairing him with Gilmore would give us great flexibility and talent.

I’m not a huge fan of Hurst and Turay (they’re ok and wouldn’t hate those picks) but I’d be leaping for joy over Alexander and Payne.

We would take Payne at 23 if he was there. I just took both of em because
hindsight is 20/20 when you see who was picked after you. Both would prob
start by the end of the year.

I think both would be mainstays of the defense moving forward. Payne would be a great compliment to Shelton and whilst they’re not like for like players, would have an Akiem Hicks like effect on the defense.

I’ve been mocking for immediate need and still see that happening but Just getting good players in is my preference. Alexander and Payne are two of the best prospects possibly available where we’re picking although I doubt either would slip to 31.

I still have a fantasy of getting Reid and Alexander and having the most athletic secondary in the NFL.

Best mock from a reporter I've seen so far.

Patriots Seven Round Mock Draft 2.0

Pretty good. I’d be concerned about Jackson. I’m excited by Carter’s potential but I don’t think he’s a slam dunk to be a successful starter. Hall is interesting but again, is a bit of a projection. I like Andrews but wonder how much playing time he’d get unless he becomes a good blocker. It’s interesting and exciting but there is some bust potential to it. The Evans pick is spot on though.

As this league evolves into a 7 on 7 passing drill, DB is or will be the most import
position. Good qb's just get rid of the ball too quick to count on pressure to defeat them.
That's realistic and I wouldn't complain.

What are your thoughts on TE's? I love Gesicki as a receiver. Not sure he could
block me. I'm 56.

I can see us passing on edge and OT. Don't like the prospects likely to be
available when we pick.

Honestly, I still feel Evans can help us more than either of the db's.

Add a QB of your choice and i don't need to hear the rest of the Draft .. until UDFA Sunday of course!

Reid seems like a safe bet to pitt at 28 so If we want him it may be at 23 or a trade up from 31. Harrison could be an option if Reid’s gone.

Mike Mayok’s mock

23. Kolton Miller
31 James Daniels

Now that’s an interesting one. As has been pointed out on twitter, we were ready to take Dan Feeney last year so maybe not a complete stretch.

Im not sure Mayock knows/cares that Pats got Croston last yr and Thuney, Karras the year before, extended Andrews..

I could possibly understand one OL pick in 1st - G+T or G+C . but two #1 OL picks in this class borders on senility..
