Sounds Like Malik McDowell could be cut from the seahawks, anyone know anything about him? Had a Harvey Langi type crash this season but looks like the Hawks are going to get rid of him

Suffered a concussion and injuries to his face in an ATV accident just prior to the start of 2017 Camp. Still not medically cleared to play football, over 8 months later.

No, but if there were a chance that he would be cleared at some point in the future, it could be worth taking a shot. He was a beast at MSU.

Would they be allowed to acquire him and then potentially stash him on the NFI list again, if he wasn’t going to be cleared in time for TC? Didn’t something similar happen with Jake Ballard, or were the circumstances different?

According to Loyko McDowell already had many red flags going into the draft. So in addition to medically clear him he comes with more baggage.

Yeah, I know. Pretty sure that’s why he fell to #35 last year. Just wondering how significant that baggage is/would be, and whether or not it would be worth a low risk/high reward type of situation, that’s all.

You’re aware of his play at Michigan State. He was impressive.

Technically the same thing.

Ballard tore his ACL in the 2011 Superbowl (v. the Pats). He wasn't close to being recovered by June 2012, so the he was Waived/Injured by the Giants. They assumed that no one would claim him and that he'd automatically revert to IR, but the Pats did so and put him on their PUP list (where he stayed all season). He was cut by the Pats at the end 0f 2013 Camp.

Ballard eventually did play for the Cards later in 2013 and did okay for them, but he retired from football at the end of that season, citing the knee injury and his desire to be able to walk without assistance when he got older.

The difference is the type of injury, of course. Concussion symptoms that are still apparently in evidence nearly 9 months later? McClellin apparently suffered a concussion in 2017 Camp, and then symptoms apparently recurred when he was attempting to return from IR. The Pats released him on March 19th with a Failed Physical designation.

It should be noted that players on PUP, NFI and IR do count against the 90-man off-season/Camp roster, so it's not as if claiming McDowell has zero cost.

Uh, I would take Marshall.

He needs to go to showtime full time......

Just in case ray Lewis feels the urge to kill yet again, Marshall would make an excellent victim.

Ps: I would give Marshall a knife to defend his myself, but he’d probably drop it.

Ouch.
