Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

Why are we still talking about this? We’re on to the draft.

Because we don't have any answers as to why the #2 CB on the team, the guy with the most defensive snaps during the season, and the guy who closed out a previous superbowl with a goal line interception after having been pretty **** in practice the week leading up to that superbowl, PLAYED ZERO SNAPS while the defense got torched.

You mean like how he Cut tiquan underwood the week of the superbowl?

Bill has cut people/ sent them home, before the big game before.
Thats a reach and I bet it did annoy some players.

Maybe he got caught with weed or something. Bill has a very low tolerance for breaking his rules...

I'm so confused, why are you accusing any player that gets punished by BB as being either drunk or caught with weed? Why is that you're go to excuse?

Someone whose made the arguments you made is incredibly dumb
That's all you got?
Wow, you can't argue against what I said, so you call me dumb. Are you a 7 year old?

I dunna know. I don't think Bill would bench Malcolm over a joint.

I go back to the Chandler Jones situation. No doubt he was pissed but he still played him vs KC.

How many games did Chandler Jones get benched for?

We Need to get to bottom of this Malcolm Butler situation, I’m baffled about this one. We needed that man on the field.

#Patriots defensive player to me this morning on the Malcolm Butler situation: "I'm not aware why it happened...It is what it is. The coach made a decision. You got to live with it."

I have my thoughts about it because I was out there putting my blood, sweat and tears out on the field that night, and one of our best players wasn't on the field," Amendola said, per ESPN.com. "To tell you the truth, I don't know why. I did ask, but I didn't get any answers. I can't make decisions like that, so I don't necessarily worry about it, but I know Malcolm is a great player and he could have helped us win. For whatever reason, he wasn't out there.

Those guys all just Patsfans.com posters?

I was actually talking about tiquan underwood. But I can see Bill benching someone over a series of drug related incidents - maybe after a warning or two. Again, we have no idea what goes on daily at 1 Patriot Place. What the media reports is just a smidgen.

Is that why Tiquan was cut? Weed? I thought it was roster thing where they needed ST help?

The thing you said showed you severely missed the mark and were unable to comprehend what I was saying. It showed a lack of reading and critical thinking ability on your part.

So yeah that’s all I got because your post was so worthless it failed to even address the point I was making because you couldn’t even get the basics down and understand who I was being critical of.

And if it wasn’t you completely missing the mark then you were outright trying to change the discussion. Either way it was not worth my time to correct you or respond with anything of value.

It was mindnumbing and hilarious that you didn’t correct yourself

No it illustrated the flaw in your belief.

So you are 7

It exactly and specifically addressed your comments.
You are wrong to say “if it were so bad he should have made him inactive” because that wasn’t an option.

Belichick wasn't the subject of the post we are discussing. So you didn't do anything besides display your ignorance.

This was your comment:
That’s irrelevant. If it was so bad that you were dead set against him playing, you are a coward and an idiot for having him out there and are showing no conviction in it.
It is wrong. End of story.

Well, if we ever get an answer we can revisit this topic.

That's not the post you massive failure.

Not sure, i was just speculating since Bill did it the night before the SB. Since it was last minute I thought may be Underwood got into trouble (violating curfew, weed, etc).

Putting Malcolm on a plane days before the SB would have been galactically stupid. Use your head.

There is no proof Malcolm on the sideline not playing caused a distraction.

If you want to say it caused an issue in personnel and scheme then that is reasonable.

I have no problem criticizing Bill. I've done it dozens of times on this board. What I refuse to do is accept Malcolm as not having culpability in his benching and pretend I know all the facts like you.

BBs legacy is safe with me and it should be for you unless you feel entitled which you clearly do.
Legacy is what the public at large thinks and how he is remembered. He will mostly be remembered for being the greatest coach ever. It will have caveats. One will be Spygate unfortunately, which I hate. Another will be this.

And again here's the ultimate problem

1. You don't know what Butler did or didn't do to say whether it merited it.
2. Regardless of that, it was 100% Belichick's call, so if Butler didn't see the field it's on Belichick.
