excited to see Tom benched for the first few games of the season, to show him who's boss.

He better not get lippy with Stephen or he'll ride the pine all season! Rules are rules.

Gasper posted this on the Twitter feed.
It is from 2010 SI article and Brady explaining why he doesn't attend the program full time.
Peter King: Tom Brady emerges from shadows of offseason

Some real nuggets in that article:

• His solution to the Patriots' late-season slide, culminating in an embarrassing home playoff loss to Baltimore? "We've got to start listening more to coach [Bill] Belichick. We've got young kids who are good players. We've got the best football coach of all time. He's got the answers. We as a team have to take the teaching and the coaching we're being given.''

He's not down over the team not adding a significant running back or wide receiver (other than the aging Torry Holt and third-round pick Taylor Price) to a team that needs an offensive boost with Welker's status in doubt. "I like [2009 injured draft pick] Brandon Tate a lot, and Julian Edelman was so effective for us last year, plus having [free-agent] David Patten back is going to help. The two tight ends we drafted [Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez], from what I hear, are really good players,'' he said.

Last time Brady didn’t regimentaly attend OTAs was in 08, 09, and 10. Those years all went swell so that bodes great.

Same as with Gronk I cant get myself to care over a veteran missing glorified weight workouts and conditioning runs. Until they sit out mandatory mini camp I don't see why anyone would overreact.

Cmon, what else is there to do before the Draft but let the sky fall.

We aren't going to get a 20 page thread with this kind of mentality. Already we begin to see the trickle down effects of team leaders missing workouts, posters refusing to be outraged is the next step on a very slippery slope

So now he wants to just pop in and out like he’s Bon Jovi?

For those of you who are just joining us ...

The short version is that this whole thing was another scintillating example of shockingly direct "RUH-ROH" speculation by a BSPN analcyst that is being repeated in the linked-to article by NESN. Probably because they're as bored right now as we are.

Really no reason whatsoever to clutch one's pearls or to re-arrange the pillows on one's fainting couch.
