2018 Draft Prospect Thread

I wasn’t really comparing the two, I was interested in the similarities. I think Mack’s explosiveness (in the jumps) makes a big difference.

TOO LATE. I'M COMMITTED NOW.

. . . mostly I'm just having way too much fun with this new tool. It certainly isn't the final say (or even the biggest component of my scouting), but it's a fun way to establish a baseline.

As defensive ends:

It’s good data but I think I prefer sparq personally. Knowing which percentile a person is in just gives better context for me.

Bradley Chubb, IF he Falls to say 7-9 range, could we see BB trading up for him?

Personally i feel he is the only player in the draft who BB would trade up for

I could see a minor trade up for Roquan Smith if he slides past 13 or so, or for Chubb 7-9. I am not seeing it for a QB, OT, or DB.

Agree. There's not a Joe Thomas OT, there's not a Revis or a Brady/Manning

Smith is an interesting one and it drives me mad, as i think he will be one of the best LB in the league but his size worries me with the way we play our Scheme, which is why i'm more of a fan of LVE

I mean if you’re asking for a Joe Thomas, a revis, or BRADY, or a manning, you’re asking for a player who is possibly one of the greatest to ever play their respective position( they certainly are). If there were any players of that caliper, and excs and coaches knew about it, there’s no way we would ever get close to drafting them. I think that might just be expecting to much.

Agree with the QB side of things..

But OT and DBs look at Orlando Pace, then JT..

DBs you could argue that Jalen Ramsey etc..

This is just off the top of my head though but yeah QB was a stretch, Just that if i am going to trade up i want a freak of a player who can take over a game, like Chubb did against FSU

Someone interesting might fall within range of a trade up

Fitzpatrick and Reid are pretty similar. I'd rather take Reid at 31 / 43 than trade up for Fitzpatrick from 23. That's just me.
I agree, because as Pat Kirwain on NFL Radio's Moving the Chains said this past week, the Patriots need as much good, young, healthy Talent as they can get their hands on. I no longer see any need whatsoever to lose ANY picks for a trade-up now that we have #23. If anything, this might afford Bill the opportunity for a small trade-Down to acquire a 4th-round pick.

Unless Mayfield falls to the Packers pick.

Agree 100% about the end for the Patriots to add as much talent as possible in this draft. Lots of question mars looking ahead to the next 2-3 years a lot of which could be addressed in this draft.

If we get a LB at 23, wouldn’t be shocked if we deal 31 for a 1 next year and a 4. DL class loaded in 19. Clemson boys, Bosa, Oliver, Thompson, Gary and others.

I see bb trading 31 to Cleveland for 33 or 35 and 109.

We get a 4th and Cleveland gets an extra year.

Win - win.

If Cleveland takes allen 1st overall instead of Darnold, it could literally send this draft into the qb over load zone.

Don't know if he's been talked about already but Dorian O'Daniel from Clemson looks like the perfect late-round LB for Belichick to take:

STRENGTHS
Madman on special teams. Finished career with 48 special teams tackles and most of them in kick coverage. Has a gift for playing past kick return blocks and maintaining focus on the returner. Technically sound as tackler. Sees what he hits and drives upper body into target while wrapping to finish. Possesses agility for lateral tackles against cutback runs. Hustles to contain against perimeter runs. Offers versatility. Played near the line and matched up on slot targets. Redirects routes with force. Reads and squeezes from zone. Finished 2017 with seven passes defensed including two pick-six interceptions.

EDIT: Plus he had the best 3-cone drill of all LB's at the combine with a 6.64;)

Agreed. Pats have alot of long term holes that need to be addressed.

QB: Bradys replacement
WR: Have depth currently, but all WR's are on 1 yr deals but Edelman and Mtichel, who are on 2 yr deals and are coming off injuries.
TE: Its all on Gronk an we have no idea how long he will play for
OL: Need for a LT.
DL: End is solid (hope they resign T Flowers) Tackle is a question. Brown and Shelton on last year of deals, Butler and Valentine both with 2 yrs left.
LB: Hightower, Langi and Rivers and all 3 yrs or more. Van Noy and Roberts are 2. Pats are in need of some athleticism at position.
CB: Gilmore is only significant player signed long term. J Jones 2 yrs, but still an unknown.
S: Mccourty, Chung and Harmon are all signed multiple years...but position could use some youth .
