Brandin Cooks appreciation thread

People just need to have realistic expectations with Cooks. He is a great complimentary piece that keeps defenses honest and can be used to manipulate coverages and create space. He is closer to being Mike Wallace than Antonio Brown.

Is that worth 8m APY ? I guess so. Is that worth almost double that which is where the market rate will end up next year ? Hell no.

To be worth that much money he would need to expand his route tree, work on his hands a bit more and be physically (and mentally !) able to go through the middle now and then. Hell, showing that he can actually run crossing routes or not drop a quick pass for a WR screen would be a nice start.

I doubt that he will be traded this offseason unless someone offers a crazy package but I am even more doubtful that he will get an extension unless he gives a heavy discount.

I’m a fan . Explosive player, really good production, and still a young player. I think we are going to see a great season out of him in 2018.

Ironically, if he has a world-beating season, the better a season he has the better he looks to suitors elsewhere. Right now, that level of potential is vaporware.

He's one of the fastest/quickest guys on the planet, they have to hold him.

There were many other times DPI could've been called and wasn't, you just keep playing... embracing excuses is for losers.

Hard to argue with much of this. I think it’s pretty much spot on. I do think that he had some early season success with the crossers at times, taking short gains and turning them into something much more substantial. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to continue as the season progressed.

After the drive in which he was injured ended because of Skippy's unforgivably ******ed 3rd/5 call, the offense scored 4 STRAIGHT TDs before the strip-sack. So how the hell was our lost little Cookie going to help us improve upon that?

I agree that Butler's benching, and the subsequent personnel mis-matches it created in Philly's favor (e.g.: too much Glitch Richards & Jonny Badmostly) was the single biggest contributing factor to our SB loss.

Second-biggest factor: Skippy's putrid 1st-half red-zone play-calling, especially on 3rd/4th down which included NO Dion Lewis anywhere.

Third-biggest: Elandon Roberts instead of David Harris.

Fourth-biggest: Cookie being IN the game.

One of the biggest contributing factors to the offense scoring 4 Straight TDs:
