Competition Committee Proposal: Allow 345 Park Ave to eject players

The megalomaniacal, myopic misanthrope sitting atop the throne at 345 Park Avenue makes another "Look at me!" decision. What's wrong with this? Really??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Don’t sweat it, goodell promised training and indoctrination

Remember when the NFL instituted its policy to take any player off the field if they appeared to exhibit any concussion symptoms? And most of this forum freaked out about how it was going to be used by the NFL to screw with the Pats? Well fast forward a year, Brady goes down hard at the start of the tying drive in SB 51 and is slow to get up. Looks kind of woozy. The perfect time to put the fix in. Nothing happened.

This will be similar.

the nfl is so f--ked. its a good thing i dont care like i used to.

The Gronk rule.

I heard about this proposal and tried to think of ejection worthy plays from last season. Just going from memory, I thought of Danny Trevathan's hit on a GB receiver, Mike Evans hitting a Saints player from behind and Gronkowski's hit on that Buffalo defensive back.

I'm sure there were others, but I also wondered why there was no talk after the 2016 season ago about the league being able to step in and eject players as a reaction to Odell Beckham headhunting Josh Norman.

A more objective person would point out that the league's centralized replay and officiating HQ only went into operation last year, so tossing in the authority to eject players might have been too much to expect out of a new system in it's first year. As a Patriots fan, though, I'm going to believe the outcry that Gronk was not ejected played a role in this decision.

Between the catch rule and this one, the NFL is trying it's hardest to make me stop watching . It seems like there is at least one rule change every off-season due to something involving the Patriots.

I'm not.. I think it's a tremendous over-reach by the league office.

This is of course the worry. But there are quite a few times people should have been kicked out but weren't. Refs are too timid. E.g., ODB going after Norman, Gronk when he jump-humped that guy, a few hits to the helmet that were egregious. Frankly I'm ok with it if they truly restrict it to such obvious egregious cases that nobody reasonable would disagree on.

You have to hand it to the NYFL. They control every game being played and every decision. But when they screw up the fans will go ballistic on some poor part time official and we'll never know who from the NYFL made the decision.

Is this like that time the refs counted 4 of the Colts balls at halftime, realized 3 of the 4 were deflated, then decided to stop counting because they weren't finding the predetermined outcome they were looking for?

Like that time..?

So you think that some Goodless appointed Jete fan is better suited to make the tough decisions from a room somewhere than the 'timid' ref who's in the middle of the action, and will be blamed for the mistakes. That sounds backwards, like most of what the NYFL comes up with.

Or like that time they penalized the team that won 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls and had two #1 picks for something the entire league was doing?

Like that time..?
