Miami releasing Suh - Patriots?

I'm honestly not sure what "take a look" means. It's the same with "kick the tires."

I mean it seems to imply that the Pats haven't ever even considered the player. Maybe it's intended to mean, "bring him in for a personal tryout"?

I really don't know.
That's pretty obvious shorthand, isn't it? It's expressing interest from a fan's perspective without saying something like sign him now! It's a more measured expression of interest.

This is as close to “not gonna happen” as I can think of. However, it’d very interesting to see how many people on this forum would have a change of heart IF NE did in fact acquire Suh. I’d take him (cheaPER) in a heartbeat & would be confident that the best coach of all time would whip him into shape. The fact that he’s currently not a Patriot (& yes, we know; his history) makes people feel the way they feel BUT if he were signed I’m sure you guys would be cautiously intrigued. I know I would!

That being said, IT AIN’T HAPPENIN’ CAPTAIN

So, when you say "I'd take a look", it simply means that you, personally, are considering signing the guy? There's no tacit implication of "If I were the Patriots ..."?

Oh, so you're trolling. Gotcha.

No, I'm not.

I posed the same question to another poster as to what he meant by "kick the tires" wrt to another player and he responded, "Sign him to a vet minimum contract."

Fair enough. Very specific. No obfuscation. Very clear that it was what he thought the Pats should do.

So, now I know exactly what his shorthand reference meant in that instance.

You got patience. Shirley Sue will sign a Vet minimum.

Who’s trolling who?

I don’t want him, not because he is a cheap shot scum bag, but because he is horrendously overrated and is as much of a liability on the field as a strength.

Respect.

Hmm ...

"Trolling" to me is my cat biting my nose to wake me up at 3:30am acting as if he's desperate to go outside. Then, when I open the door, he sniffs the air a couple times and goes back to bed.
You’re well trained. Strange how cats have monkeys for pets.

I don't want him for both reasons you stated.

What I don't get about him is why he gets a free pass from the league whenever he pulls one of his stunts.

It's happened to me on multiple occasions.

I really don't see much point in using the dislike/disagree buttons. I figure, if I disagree with something, I should post my reasoning or let it go. It just seems more courteous, and it may allow other people reading the forum to learn something from the discussion.

I wish we had frownie face instead

OK. Because saying "you, personally, are considering signing the guy?" sounded sort of obnoxious, but you might not have meant it that way.

One of the most overrated players in the NFL.

The guys a dirty player. We sign him and lose 14 draft picks every time he steps on someone’s leg. No way
Well, if there were an opponent's star player that we'd want knocked out for the game, a couple games, or the season, the signing of Suh might make sense. Otherwise, no.

Reason 6,738 why I am a dog person. (no offense Sammy)
That cat's name rhyme with Evenson by any chance?

Way too expensive for a player that is fairly overrated. The Dolphins play in a division against the 40 year old GOAT and they chose to get rid of him.

Really hope he doesn't land with the Jetes, but that makes too much sense to not happen at this point. Even if the Patriots wanted him, they wouldnt be able to hang with these other teams that have boat loads of cap space and also are desperate to make a splash to appease fans/STHs

Good call, but no.

Tarzan.

Same concept, different genre.
