2018 NFL Draft Binkies

Burks, Vander Esch, Jessie Bates whose gettint slept on.

Not necessarily a binkie of mine. However, I just stumbled upon some interesting info (I’m sure some of you were already privy to this). I was unaware that Louisville QB Lamar Jackson actually ran the Erhardt-Perkins system in college. Not that I would necessarily want to draft him, but he may be more of a fit for our offense than I originally thought.

Film review: Lamar Jackson fits the Patriots offense better than it seems

The question with Jackson is if the coaching staff is willing to take on another project with accuracy issues after failing with JB recently. Especially if you have to use #31 for that.

Sony Michel or Nick Chubb. Also like Lorenzo Carter of UGA.

The best D-Lineman , LB or CB available.

I saw a mock draft that had us taking a wr with our 2nd pick....Are you freaking kidding me. We need a better pass rush and faster lb's and another cover guy.

OTOH, BB is usually good for at least one "WTF??!!" move in every draft, so I wouldn't bet any significant sum against him not drafting a WR with the #43.

Not so much of a binkie, but it seems like a lock this guy gets drafted here:
Janarion Grant - 2017 Football Roster - Rutgers University

Slot receiver, special teams guy. Has Belichick written all over him.

I actually spoke with one of his coaches at the Glazier Clinic I attended back in February. Couldn't say enough positive about the guy. Raved about him.

Draft a defensive player with speed, pass rushing ability, and a mean streak to him. No more choir boys.

I was originally fixated on Sony Michel but this guy has stolen my attention.

On offense, Josh Rosen from UCLA. IMHO he is the best pro prospect out there at that position and if I was drafting for that need, that's the one I would choose.

On defense, Bladley Chubb from NC State. Of course, neither of these guys will get within 25 picks on NE, so my wild card is Lamar Jackson. Very curious to see what happens with him.

I'm down with getting a quality player regardless of the position, but I agree, it would induce a shudder to not go defense early on.

San Diego State tight end David Wells. I have no rationale.* I made him my binky at random. He will be chosen.

*except he is a mass of intangibles - high school quarterback, will play ST to get on the field, yadda yadda yadda.

Central Michigan OLB/DE Joe Ostman
