Report: Talib, Sherman 'have their eye on Patriots'

Would rather have Talib back, even though I am surprised he'd want to come back. Sherman would concern me off the Achilles.

I don't think that anyone would sign an injured Sherman.

With regard to Talib. The NFL is a business. We need what he has, and we know what he can do and what he can't. Talib knows that he can be valuable to us. As is often case, the question is not what he is, but rather the price.

I like the idea but only if we get can both. Sherman can be insurance in case Talib gets shot again. And Talib insures we don't rely on a guy coming off a major surgery.

Oh and get both cheap too.

Rather have Sherman, myself. I know he's coming off of major surgery, but I just feel he'll come back strong the guy is too competitive not to.

Talib, on the other hand, watched his team get torched twice in the AFCCG. 2013 was the Weller hit I can't remember if he got a concussion can't hold it against him. 2012 though...a bruised hip and you can't play? Come on, man.

Wasn’t there a report today stating that Sherman recently had surgery on the other Achilles, as well?

That’s crazy. No one's trading for that dude right now. It was supposedly a much more minor cleanup job, but still...

Richard Sherman had surgery on his left Achilles

Unless any of the two comes on a heavy, heavy discount neither of those players is realistic nor necessary. Prioritize the front 7 with the limited resources we have available.

So, they're stalking the Pats now? If so, I might suggest taking out a TRO on Talib.

Shermans biggest issue is that achilles tendon being damaged. Does anyone know if it was ruptured or torn or a tear?

If its a rupture then it may be better than a torn, reason being it would of been completely repaired and in some cases they would of taken the tendon from a different part of his body where the tendons are stronger.

If it is Torn then there could still be a higher chance of it reoccurring again, mainly due to there is already a weakness there and it could still happen again.

Tear is a 50/50 but more likely to be stretched tendon which could cause more tension and could have another injury similar to it.

It's going to be an interesting one i feel, personally i think id rather have Sherman IF his Achilles is fully cleared and we can test him out.

It is a risk though.

Give me Sherman over Talib. The last time Talib played a game here, the camera panned to him and Dennard on the sideline and it looked like Dennard was pleading with him to come in to the game. He also left the AFCCG with a bruised hip the year before and didn’t come back. It seemed, at least to me, like he was more concerned with preserving his body for the upcoming big payday than he was with helping his team when they needed the most. Sherman, when healthy, has been the better corner and it seems like all he wants to do is win. If his health checks out and the price is right, this is a no-brainer.

I think Sherman is a smarter player, too - more than just a read-and-react guy, but with some ability to bait a QB, to see and avoid a rub route before the snap, etc. With is size, aggressiveness and tackling ability, he could probably play either safety or CB in the Pats system, and switch between the two from play-to-play.

Health and price.

Health and price.

Given that he had another recent procedure done I would say that even if he is traded he is a PUP candidate that might miss half of the season. And even then you dont know which version of him you will get.

All of this screams "cheap" restructure with the Seahawks to me.

Talib is a quitter. Sherman is not.
