NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Odell Beckham has told people close to him he is targeting over $20 million per year on a new deal.

Beckham is signed for one more year at $8.5 million, so contract extension talks have already begun. "He's in the twenties (million per year)," said Garafolo regarding Beckham's asking price in annual average. "He wants to be in the low twenties."

A decade ago, the Pats gave Moss a 3-year contract at what was the low end of Top-10 money for WRs at the time. He was also over 30 when he signed that contract.

I love Randy to death, but he was definitely close to the Dez Bryant/OBJ end of the diva spectrum (though maybe with a bit more Richard Sherman-esque wit and intelligence than those other guys have).

Cooks, so far, appears to be at the opposite end of the diva spectrum - quiet and a very hard worker, by all accounts (including Brady's). He's also only 25. A low-end Top-10, five-year contract for him would be around the $13M AAV range ... for now. By this time next year, that "low" end might be around $15M.

Given what a crapshoot drafting and developing WRs has always been (for everyone, not just for the Pats), and given how much more successful the Pats have been taking low/mid-level WRs off the hands of other teams and getting very good production out of them (Amendola and Hogan being the most recent examples), I'm really not expecting a significant uptick in the Pats drafting WRs anytime soon.

Wouldn't mind going after Chris Conley loved him coming out of the draft they seem to have pushed him down the depth chart a bit.

Chris Conley has as many receptions in his career as Cooks had last season. He might be a player worth considering but it's like talking about a new contract for Gronk and jumping in to say we should trade for Logan Thomas.

They will likely lose some guy's including their pro bowl safety Landon Collins who will be in his last year before free agency. He should ask for Eric Berry money.

He should only be talking about returning healthy and productive in 2018 as negotiating now after a missed injury year makes him look stupid.

Then he should start playing better than a tier 2/3 safety. He had one good season in his career so far.

OBJ will get a nice 5 year extension where only the first 2-3 years will be real and the rest will be fake just designed to push the APY up so he can claim the crown.

Overall it will look like a 20M APY+ contract but in reality it will be somewhere around 18M is my guess. Then the Giants will either start the restructuring dance or project that the cap will haven risen so far up that it wont be as crazy anymore.
