I didn’t see this anywhere, so I thought I’d start my annual binky thread, an annual tradition.

I have A LOT this year, but will only list a few. Usually dominated by offense, our defense really needs fixing, so there will be a bunch of defenders amongst my binkies. Though I think we will have needs at RB and TE possibly.

On defense:

I really like DE Harold Landry from Boston College, I think he’d be a perfect fit for the Pats adding much needed pass rush. I’ve seen him listed as a 1st round pick, and I think with a good combine, he jumps further up, though I’d love to see him fall to 31, not that Belichick would take him.

Malik Jefferson LB Texas, he was a dominant defender every time I watched him.

Sam Hubbard DE Ohio State, I love this guy, he has an incredible motor and great tenacity.

Poona Ford DT Texas, a true run stopper.

Taven Bryan DL Florida, his nickname is JJ Watt, enough said.

Marquis Haynes DE Ole Miss, really good pass rusher, it’s what we need.

Kentavious Street DE NC State, really impressed when I watched him.

On offense:

We are probably going to lose Dion Lewis, so there are 2 RBs that would be perfect to replace him. They are great runners, but also good receivers and blockers and have special teams experience (as returners).

Possibly my favorite player in the draft, Sony Michel. He can do it all, reminds me of Tevin Coleman of the Falcons. Great speed and good size, very shifty, and has great hands. Perfect replacement for Lewis, but I’m afraid he’s gonna tear it up at the combine and be unreachable. Was hoping we’d grab him in the 2nd round.

Another back who can do it all, Rashaad Penny, SD State. Would be a perfect pick to replace Lewis.

TE wise, if Gronk and Bennett retire, and even if they don’t, Pats need to draft Gronk’s replacement soon (and TE depth). My favorite is Dallas Goedert South Dakota State. He’s the most Gronk like TE I’ve seen in years, so similar in playing style.

Jordin Akins TE UCF, very talented, underrated TE.

Mike Gesicki TE Penn State, love this guy, can be dominant at times. Another I like is Tyler Conklin Central Michigan.

Have a bunch of other RBs and a slew of WRs I like, but will lost them on another post.

Other RBs I like:

Royce Freeman Oregon, Ronald Jones USC, Patrick Laird Cal, Kerryon Johnson Auburn, Kalen Ballage Arizona State, Darrel Williams LSU and of course Nick Chubb Georgia, and Guice of LSU.

WRs I like, but we probably won’t draft a WR:

David Sills West Virginia, amazing story, highly recruited QB, turned into an excellent WR.

Marcel Ateman, Oklahoma State, massive receiver, great red zone target.

Jaleel Scott New Mexico State, very talented BIG receiver.

Allan Lazard Iowa State, also a big target.

Jake Wieneke South Dakota State, could be a good slot receiver.

DJ Chark LSU, explosive small speed guy

Tre’Quan Smith UCF, BIG powerful receiver.

QB- we MUST draft a Garoppolo replacement to back up Brady, and possibly replace Brady in a few years. I hope they don’t wait until the 3rd round, when most of the good ones might be gone.

My favorites for 2nd round or later.

Kyle Lauletta Richmond, of course, he’s an obvious choice.

Mike White Western Kentucky, this guy is so accurate and just looks calm and cool.

Some are well known, some aren’t and will be UDFA candidates. I had a decent list last year, and the Pats grabbed only 2 of them.

P: JK Scott, Alabama

Vita Vea DR Washington

Jerome Baker LB Ohio State

Chris Worley LB Ohio State

John Kelly RB Tennessee

QB Mike White,Lauletta, and little Brady wannabe nothing wrong about wanting to emulate the Goat at QBs. Lamar Jackson might be Deshaun Watson 2.0 and I say yes please.

RB. Penny,Micheal but my super binkie is Carter tell me he doesn't look like Dion Lewis

WR not bothering to scout we have had awful luck drafting receivers for so many reasons.
Plus Brady is so particular who is getting the ball. I feel alot of rookies aren't ready for that kind of commitment and work.
TE its all about Dallas for me
But he should pray he goes to the Cowboys for marketing alone.
Haven't scouted much defense yet to be honest.

my need-based list of binkies:

DT - Maurice Hurst
DL/LB - Hercules Mataafa
LB - Leighton Vander Esch
RB - Rashaad Penny

Not a speed guy, so yeah why not.

I suppose it might be possible, but the things that make Edelman, Amendola, et al. so lethal in the slot don't normally come in Extra Tall.

RB - Rashaad Penny

I have Hercules as one of mine as well.

My other is the qb from Toledo.

QBs White and Jackson, LBs Shaun Dion Hamilton and Josey Jewell, TEs Ian Thomas and Mike Gesecki, RB Royce Freeman, and See Ronnie Harrison and Deshon Elliot are some of my favorites in the draft.

Big Fan of Gesecki, Royce Freeman and Lamar Jackson...

Levi Wallace is another to look out for

I'm going to choose a later round guy at each position that I'm intrigued by. Some have been mentioned already, some are flying completely under the radar.

OT: Greg Senat

OG: Wyatt Teller

C: Bradley Bozeman

WR: Trey Quinn

DT: PJ Hall

DE: Ade Aruna

LB: Frank Ginda

CB: Levi Wallace

SS: Kyzer White

FS: Dominick Sanders

I really like Mark Walton as well. Very good late round prospect.

In also gonna jump on the Leighton Vander Esch train. Guy looks like a mix of Urlacher and Jamie Collins.
