Mike Tomlin is available for the right price. Perhaps you think hed do a better job.

ooohhhh.....the drama.......so spicy!!!

I'll say it once I'll say it more

This is BB's version of Brady having a QBR of 60 in a game......I think he threw a dud

now it's time to live through the hangover year

The Coaches job is to help his team win football games.

Not reading this whole thread, but I agree his own ego, benching Butler cost the game. Butler probably was a 5-7 point difference just in his own, because if you put him on Agahlor, who destroyed us, he probably contains him. Also Butler is an excellent tackler, how many times did we see guys miss tackles in that game. Also his coverage skills possibly causes Foles to hold on to the ball longer, which could cause a sack or bad throw.

Bottom line, Butler is the Pat’s 2nd best CB, period, despite Belichick’s ******** line about trying to give the team the best chance to win, it certainly had the opposite effect, and had an effect on his own locker room. My only confusion is, if your trying to discipline a guy, don’t even dress him, dress someone else, who knows, maybe Kenny Britt makes some plays once Cooks went down. Don’t dress the guy and then sit him the whole game, it’s actually an insult to the inactives. You telling me Branch couldn’t have helped against the run game ?

Just a horribly coached game by Belichick, and horrible management, decision wise (Butler).
it will go beyond this one game too. sad stuff.

The reason it didn't happen is because the coach didn't allow him to play. That's the base reason.

Wrong.

The genesis of the matter is Malcolm completely f-ed up which compromized the entire defensive game plan.

If he did his job leading up to the game none of this would have happened.

We can speculate all day why the coaches felt that way, but at the end of the day it didn't happen because the coach made a decision.

Coaches decide who plays and doesn't play based on the game plan, performance, talent and attitude.

Players put themselves in a position to play based on the game plan, performance, talent and attitude.

If it was disciplinary, the coach still had to choose if it was worth benching him. If it was poor practices, the coach still had the chance to test out other options. The coach didn't want it to happen, so it didn't.

When it comes to coaching decisions, buck stops with the coach, he makes the decisions.

Only if the player makes himself eligible.

The only reason the team was in a position to win was Brady. My point was that BB thought Brady was going to pull off a comeback at halftime so decided to leave Butler on the bench.

yah........Brady's game even deserves a pass on his poor throws in the first half

Brady was not the problem in this game.......the offense was not a problem in this game

You are criticizing him while admitting you don’t know the facts.
It’s insanity to judge a decision without facts.

I do know that Butler was told right before the National Anthem that he was being benched. Unless Butler punched a coach or took weed in the tunnel before going out on the field (unlikely), the handling of the situation deserves to be critiqued.

He DID pull off another comeback in the 2nd half! We took the lead, remember? Then BB put the same unworkable defense back out there and the results were predictable (i.e. no ability to stop the Eagles and another score). Then Brady had to be perfect (on a day where he almost was) and he got strip-sacked. You're not going to say that outcome is on Brady I hope.

If he wasn't putting butler in the game then do something different to surprise the eagles. Corner blitz. Anything. This coaching staff was brutal! I didn't like the play in the end with the trickery. It gave them bad field position.

This!

People aren’t overreacting about this at all, Patsfan2 just called Belichick “ Hitler.”

But you don’t know that, it’s a rumor, and you don’t know the circumstances and you don’t know the reason he didn’t play.

When it was 33-32 wish he had put in butler. We get a 3 and out there and I have no doubts we score another td. The eagles defense was gassed. Instead we saw a long drive. Eagles coaching staff ran circles against our guys.

that's the absolutist view of things.......the type of thinking that disregards what is required for success in the day

more ofthen than not, it does not work......I don't think it's ever worked for BB

Coaches decide who plays and doesn't play based on the game plan, performance, talent and attitude.

Only if the player makes himself eligible.

and yet again, BB did not put the team in the best position to win.....maybe it's BB's fault to not compromise in the moment to keep the balance and the focus of the rest of the team right for the only game everyone ultimately works for

nobody's saying look the other way....nobody's saying blow it off.....have the courage and the leadership to solve the problem rather than just resorting to boorish absolutism.........it did not work......winning that game should come first......not some ******** discipline that works the rest of the year

he created more problems than he solved

Look, my point is that among the list of violations worth losing a superbowl over, it does not crack the top 100. But more importantly, it is a completely unsubstantiated rumor that people are latching on to as if it were fact.

And then there’s Butler reporting that “ they lost faith in me,” which explains completely why he didn’t play. Playing time is earned, not an entitlement.

Whatever happened to the saying In Bill we trust.. Jeez You should all listen to yourselves, you sound like maniac fans from other teams when **** don't go right lol

I'm done I think now till the combine, hopefully the crybaby factions will be over it already and onto the redsocks.

But you don’t know that, it’s a rumor, and you don’t know the circumstances and you don’t know the reason he didn’t play.

It’s clear as day if you saw the broadcast. I saw Butler warming up on the field before the game and looked fine. Then I see him during the National Anthem and he’s crying. It’s not difficult to deduce that he was told of his playing status right before the Anthem.

I think at that point it was too late......there's no reason to have tried a halftime adjustment.......well, except hubris

I don't even know WTF you are talking about with this. I am PO'd at BB's ridiculous coaching decisions on Sunday, and therefore I want Mike Tomlin? Whatever.

And my day is complete as Quantum has added all his little red X's to my posts.

I am not going to change your minds that BB never gets it wrong, and never says anything misleading to cover up for his real reasons for benching one of his best players on a defense that until this game was playing great. You can defend him all you want, but to me he screwed up big time by messing with the chemistry of his team (at kickoff no less) and refusing to fix it, even though he could have. He shouldn't have done that to the rest of the team, the coaches or the fans. If you are okay with it then good for you. I am not okay with it and I never will be.

knock yourself out.......you could probably convince yourself dogshit tastes good and then you'll have a lifetime supply

I think we've run out of **** to make up.......unless you want to start blaming unicorns and the phase of mars

It actually is unicorns. Read it on ESPN. No good, cheating, steroid using dope smoking unicorns

blind lovers rolling with 'absolutism is the only way in football'

it's amazing how many times BB has gotten it wrong and then it just gets hung off of someone elses neck....especially with these benchings

Tully Banta Cain against the colts in the AFCC......Pats lose thanks to the awesomeness of one Eric Alexander
Wes Welker for the foot thing against the Jets......Pats lose
now this.......

It just doesn't work, and I think the masses would prefer the win
