Here's a statement from a PSU trustee
Why?And given the nature of the scandal they still have to look into it.
pepper is long goneSomething to think about, Pepper Johnson is floating out there with no job.. he is well versed in the BB method, bring him in as some sort of Defensive Assistant if Schiano is as bad as people want him to be..
I always thought he was heir apparent to that position, but Patricia beat him out..
Why?
It’s been proven to be wrong. Should they go back and investigate brady letting air out of footballs to see if wells was right?
You're reading too much into it. Flores interviewed with the Cardinals, that is not the same as saying he was planning to jump ship. Lots of Pats coaches have interviewed elsewhere and ended up staying in Foxboro for years afterward. Thing is, interviewing for a job is a good learning experience, so not interviewing would be choosing to purposely stunt his career development.
Comparing “ deflate gate” to institutionally protected sexual abuse of children is disgraceful. Schiano was coaching at PennState during the Sandusky scandal and asking him if he was aware of what was going on is simply due diligence. I’m not sure what you are so scared of them finding out but attitudes like yours are the reason the Catholic Church, Penn State, and the U S “ Women's” Gymnastic Team were able to cover up massive sexual abuse of children. Anyone with any association to scandals like these needs to be questioned about any knowledge they may or may not have had, it’s called doing the right thing. If Schiano has no knowledge then by all means hire him, but not even asking the question is willful blindness, and it’s inexcusable.
Are you seriously implying that nobody has yet asked him about it ? Because he has answered all those question multiple times already. You will not learn anything new anymore because all of it is based on rumors with not a single first hand account. It is the equivalent of someone claiming their uncle knows someone who worked at the Eagles and saw Lurie sucking Peterson off. It is that stupid..
I’m not claiming anything of the sort, I’m saying the Patriots need to ask the questions. And I’m not sure why people are frightened to do so?
Comparing false acccusations that are obviously wrong is not.Comparing “ deflate gate” to institutionally protected sexual abuse of children is disgraceful.
Wtf are you talking about?Schiano was coaching at PennState during the Sandusky scandal and asking him if he was aware of what was going on is simply due diligence. Can you link to reports about these interviews or reference of them. I’ve never heard this.He interviewed already last year for spots somewhere else. I think Deus has nailed that one. If he continues the trend of good-to-great defenses then it is definitely in the cards that he is gone next offseason (or the following one). Especially if we keep appearing in the playoffs..
Nobody is frightened to do anything. It is just pointless and borderline impolite to keep asking questions that have been answered already multiple times. He clearly said that he had nothing to do with anything that someone claimed. Until there is someone who can actually substantiate anything there is nothing to talk about.
I think he’s a witch.I’m not really worried about the Patriots being “ impolite.” The accusations in the Sandusky case are as extreme as it gets, and simply asking what, if anything, an employee who was in that locker room every day knew is doing due diligence. If Schiano tells them he never knew anything at all and they accept it then I’m fine with that, if they won’t ask the questions I’m not. That’s the reason that piece of sh.t got away with it, it’s the reason priests got away with it for centuries, and the reason Larry Nassar was able to get away with molesting teenage girls for years and years.
Who knew what PSU is a very hard thing to discern, but at the same time it’s also hard to believe that some assistants knew about the gravity of what was taking place there without most of not all of the other assistants having some knowledge of it as well.
Ask yourself this, if you were the one who caught Jerry Sandusky raping a kid in the showers would you only tell Paterno or would you tell everyone you knew until something was done about it? I spent years working with abused kids and I know what my answer is.
I’m honestly surprised that people here are offended by the idea of simply asking the questions.
Comparing false acccusations that are obviously wrong is not.
Wtf are you talking about?
So you suggest that this gets revisited what maybe once every year? The accusation against Schiano has already been proven wrong.
It’s already been done.I’m suggesting that anyone interviewing those who worked in that locker room what, if anything, they knew about it is doing your job properly. Not asking those questions is turning a blind eye to it.
I think he’s a witch.
It’s already been done.
Why are you being a dlck?I’ll take that as you wouldn’t tell everyone you knew about a child rape because you wouldn’t want to be impolite.
Those two are buddies.Really, I didn’t realize Belichick had interviewed him already?
Belichick is close friends with Schiano and if I remember correctly he made a public statement on his character when the whole Tennessee thing happened.Really, I didn’t realize Belichick had interviewed him already?
