Two words: ON DEMAND
Usually, these shows will be on demand, depending on your cable carrier, the following Tuesday (for xfinity customers anyways). And you don't have to worry about commercials. I guess I have more patience than most when it comes to this type of things that I can wait and miss out on 20 minutes of ads.
Fair enough, although it should be noted that this was a limited commercial event, so 77/90 mins were of actual footage.

It seemed it was maybe a bit more painful for Parcells than Belichick. It's too bad Belichick couldn't adapt some humor the way Parcells did in his press conferences. That's probably my only slight criticism of Belichick over the years.
Come on BBs My Face joke is way better than the Shop for the groceries line.

Haters gonna hate.

I'm a big fan of Coach Belichick's reticence, but my God, did I love to watch Parcells bust balls, up there. Remember when somebody asked'm if he'd "outcoached" the other Coach ~ who happened to be Pete Carroll, by the way???

Tuna press conferences were must see TV.

I'd contend that there isn't a better coach in NFL history that engaged with the media as masterfully as he did.

You're absolutely right Belichick had had some great dead pan one liners over the years. Parcells though was must watch TV every single press conference. Pete Carroll looked so freakin' young but I guess it was 20 years ago.

It was good, but could've been better...

other better 30 for 30s - Trojan War, 4 Days in October, Who Killed the USFL, Without Bias, The U (both episodes), Celtics/Lakers, Catholics v Convicts, XFL....
Charismatic was my favorite (I know I'm probably the only person).

Another thing that struck me about this doc is how deferential BB is to Parcells. He is very gracious in his comments, and is careful not to attack him in any way--it is clear from stuff written last decade, like Haberstam's book, that Parcells' behavior bordered on Bobby Knight-lite by the time they got to the Jets, and that BB was frankly tired of dealing with it. I also think there's probably some truth to what Harry Carson said.

Thanks for timing it And you're absolutely correct. I was watching either the convicts vs. catholics or the LAL/Celtics of the 80's and was wondering "where are the commercials?" Didn't see one until like 40 minutes into it.
I couldn't watch the 2 Bills so looking forward to it once on demand. The other times it airs are like crazy 5 a.m. or something like that.

The whole thing was awesome, but I gotta say the part at the end where neither of them had any interest in going to the Jets locker room as a highlight. Basically "nah, **** those guys" in slightly politer terms

Also, I missed it last night but was able to watch it here: 30 for 30: The Two Bills - WatchESPN

It's true, and what really sucks, is how off the hook Parcells gets with all of this.

That dude's ego was through the fricking roof by 1997, and he was wrong to do what he did. He sort of admits it, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out why Parcells escapes this, and why the media loves him, but BB, who did nothing wrong other than realize he did not want to be a pupper anymore or used by Parcells, and to avoid law ownership after Cleveland, is so reviled.

I mean, I kind of get he doesn't give the media anything and whatnot, but that is flat out smart and the lack of professionalism by the media here, is atrocious. It's not like this anywhere else in the world, not even in Toronto or Montreal with their hockey teams have a media that are all over those teams.

It's sort of sickening the Boston media are such frauds, so morally corrupt and inaccurate in their coverage of BB.

Obviously, YMMV.

For me, it was a let down.

I laughed my balls off at both of them acting like the Jets have cooties. They pretty much do.

But, how disturbing is it, to see the NFL's shenanigans, even under Tagliabue, actually in play back then.

Did Tagliabue let it happen or was he against it and he was just told to do it?

See, this always about money and how that money comes out NY. Been that way since the World Bank moved from London to NY after World War I.

This also gives credence to the truth of Spygate. It's a clear framejob used off of a continued war between the Jets and Pats.

I still cannot believe Manboobs was dumb enough to take the cheese and go to the Jets.

And, talk about a guy with an inflated opinion of himself. Here is BB giving Manboobs a golden ticket to becoming a head coach after maybe a few productive seasons as a coordinator, and the fat, entitled LOSER, spends 1 year on the job and then pulls a Parcells!

Can you imagine how BB felt there?

I cringed so badly seeing the doofus Carroll in a Pats jacket. Ugh. You could tell it was a crap hire at the time because of the position Kraft was in.

Wow.

This stuff is epic beyond belief in terms of the drama scale and how unethical the NFL can be.

Thanks for timing it .
Ha. There’s been a lot of hype with this documentary over the past few months, so I ended up reading it in an article the other day.

13 mins of commercials seemed to be about right after watching it last night, though.

You could tell Parcells regretted the heck of out his selfishness and ego when you look at him looking down when he was speaking.

Who cares if Kraft wanted Glenn? He doesn't get to the SB withotu Glenn in 1996.

I don't buy the idea that Kraft and Grier were dictating, it was that one pick where Kraft liked Glenn at the time, and Bledsoe did need a #1 WR. The Shawn Jefferson WR FA signing was also a good move.

It proves that this is why continuity is so vital.

Also, the "shop for the groceries" line is weak. Kraft wanted Glenn, a lot of people in the room did, and Parcell's ego was set off. That's ridiculous to think ONE freaking draft pick somehow would cause such a divide, especially when the pick helps you to a SB!

Parcells couldn't handle that. That's sad and that's on him.

As much as Kraft should have stayed out of that kind of thing, it shouldn't hvae been enough to destroy what they had.

If Parcells stayed, $100 they're back in the Super Bowl the very next year. Even cheating Denver probably wouldn't have beaten them with their sneaky cap cheating that went pretty much unpunished.

Absolutely unreal what the general public, simply doesn't know.

Pete didn't do a particularly good job here. But to call this guy a crap coach is way too much. He had no front office support--the drafts were abysmal.

He was a top defensive coordinator before taking over. He brought USC out of its 30 year doldrums and made them relevant again; he drafted well with the Seahawks and lead them to within seconds of 2 Super Bowl wins.

Put it this way. Bob Kraft has 3 head coaching hires over the span of 25 years. They are: Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll, & Bill Belichick.

8 (and hopefully 9) Super Bowl victories between them.
