Rhodes was a massive loss and by the time he was back on the field it was out of reach. Compounding that was the offense's inability to sustain drives, so the defense was running on fumes and giving up huge plays. Keenum picked the wrong time to remember he was Case Keenum all along and spent the whole game comically throwing off his back foot, even when there was no pressure to be seen.
It was pretty much a perfect storm. The Eagles controlled the game. This was a defense that only allowed third down conversions on a quarter of plays all year and allowed three quarters in this game. It's a recipe for a blowout like that. But every football game is its own monster, and it remains to be seen if we'll see the Nick Foles of last night or the Nick Foles who got shut out by the Cowboys and was so bad they put in Nate Sudfeld in the second half. I would be more willing to bet on the latter, but the Patriots will still have their work cut out for them against a good defense.
