Brady Hand Injury

We have zero idea how much he practiced. The media only got to see the stretching and jogging parts. For all we know he left the field as soon as the media left. And even that little bit of practice qualifies him to be listed as "Limited".

Qm. Do you have an opinion on this? I ask because I’d like to hear any opinion other than my own mind.

Why would harrison take a handoff from brady? It was a running back.

And i dont understand why cancelling a press conference matters. The fact brady practiced today is a good sign that the swelling is down. 4 days until the game

What I've read (can't remember where) is that it was a hand off to Lewis. So, it sounds like he either caught the thumb on the point, or it got snagged and was twisted about.

Brady officially (and obviously completely unsurprisingly) listed as "limited" per Reiss.

Not really. I could see it being anything from "not going to matter much" to 2011 Gronk 2.0. The one firm opinion I do have is "don't take anything the organization, coaches, or players say at face value about this". Related to that, I also think it's worse than the team is trying to portray it as. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's horrible or even bad. Only that it's worse than they want us to think it is.

I get that feeling too. Hopefully it isn’t horrible but if it’s worse than they let on. I just hate a mystery, why not just say what it is?

Thats not what Jeff howe said. He said brady wouldn't even be on the practice field if he didnt improve overnight

And stretching doesnt qualify as practice. Hogan had several dnps where the media saw him on field for stretching

Random speculation, but if he's got swelling and/or discoloration on his hand, pushing the press conference back a day allows an extra 24 hours for it to heal and be less noticeable.

Nope. Brady postponed his media session (again) to tomorrow.
That's ok - I was more worried about him being a no show for practice. The fact that he was there, gloves or not, made me feel better.

The x-rays look just like we'd expect:

I actually feel as though the opposite may be true. But, the reality is that no one outside of the team really knows. Most of us have speculated, but that's all it really is. I do believe that winning with Hoyer would be difficult, but I don't think it would be impossible. It would require a different game plan, but it could be done.

I really HATE the media hack coverage of this. The man is not dead. Lord Jesus.

Pertaining to this situation, I've decided what I see and hear means absolutely nothing and what I see on Sunday does.

From Barstool Sports Jerry Thornton

Barstool Sports

“About two weeks ago I went on Barstool Radio and told Dave and Big Cat how I was trying to confirm something I’d heard: That Tom Brady broke his throwing hand weeks ago. I was getting this from someone who’s given me info before that turned out to be a hundred percent accurate. But being the responsible capital-J Journalist that I am, I couldn’t go with the broken hand story until I got confirmation from another source. This is Barstool Sports after all, not ESPN. We have standards.”

Not sure if this is true or not but a few things

1) it would explain his dip in play during the middle of the season
2) Brady is a warrior. Most QBs would be on IR with a broken hand

Nonsense. They are talking about a broken hand as if it were a torn fingernail.

How long have you been following this team?

Sine around 78, never fails tho. I’m Charlie Brown running at the football, can’t help trying every time.

but I do know I saved with Geico......

Probably true, but people were saying late yesterday that he missed practice yesterday and was expected to miss it today. No one on BB teams misses a Thursday practice if they expect to play on Sunday (and/or they are really hurt) - isn't Thursday the day the game plan is implemented? I am comforted, perhaps falsely, that he was out there, with some funky gloves on. That means to me that he is getting ready to play and is either protecting the hand to the best of his ability, or he's learning to play this weekend with some funky gloves on, or both. Either way, that news to me is way better than, "Tom Brady, as expected, was not sighted on the field for practice today."
