AFCCG practice news: Patriots & Jaguars (edit)

So, this seemed to have been relatively missed.

Jonathan Jones was IRed and Bernard Reedy was re-signed to the 53.

This is interesting because it gives the Pats only 4 CBs on the roster with the 4th being Bademosi.

Bademosi's play earlier in the year was eye-opening because no one here really knew what the Pats had in him other than a Special Teams player.

Reedy being brought back instead of the Pats bringing up Ryan Lewis or Jomal Wiltz to replace Jones is a bit of a surprise, but it probably has as much to do with Mitchell not being activated as it does Jones going to the IR.

Reedy will probably be handling all punt return duties with Amendola being counted on more in the receiving game.

I can't imagine Dola not returning punts. BB circle of trust for PRs is like a centimeter wide.

maybe it is just precautionary, some rest and he plays Sunday?

or, maybe not and some hack will
play in his spot, adding some discombobulation on the back end?

discuss:

He will play on Sunday. How efficiently or for how long I have no clue but after seeing him leave the game last week the first thoughts I had was that we needed to test him.

interesting..good, solid player but like was saying, something tells me their backups stink.

i still don’t think it is a good sign he can’t practice in any capacity, though.

Too bad it seems the best way for our QB to take advantage of it is to punt towards him.

If he is out that would certainly help. I imagine he would have been one of the guys in charge of bracketing Gronk over the top.

He's one of the better coverage safeties in football...it matters.
Never heard of him up until this thread. Would've been since to say "Jaguars safety Gipson.."

I thought at first it was an awful typo for Gillislee or Grissom

agreed. i don’t think these teams left in the postseason have very good depth, either.

a 3rd string safety would probably be a nice sight for brady.

if they do put ramsey or bouye on gronk, that really could open up the deeper perimeters.

wow. do you not watch the nfl? we are playing the jaguars in about 72 hours.

He does have a point. It wouldn't hurt to have added "Jaguars safety" to your thread title. I think you should just in case some people don't know. Not everyone here can name every starting Jags player. If they can't that is perfectly okay.

Also there's no need to use the term "millennials" over and over again. I just don't see why it matters if someone is or is not one.

well, according to the millennials with short attention spans, who refuse to learn anything from others, who also would rather analyze brady’s papercut, it is not a pertinent piece of info.

I think you are drastically overestimating the number of millenials on this board. By my unofficial calculations, the average age of a PatsFan member is approximately 62.
