2018 schedule update: Pats will NOT play in London

New stadium. 60K capacity.

It was also custom-built to accommodate NFL football as well as regular football (soccer). The NFL chipped in some cash as well, so they've configured it with larger locker rooms to accommodate the bigger team sizes and additional facilities that NFL teams require. It also has a retractable soccer pitch with an artificial turf NFL field below it.

There's an agreement to play 2 games a year there now for the next 10 years. In 2018, there is only the 1 game (probably to work out any glitches) so they will make up for it by putting 3 games there in another year.

I am pretty gutted to be fair but in my life I have seen the Patriots in london and the Patriots in Foxboro. For a guy born in England in the 70's, that is pretty good going!

If playing at international venues is too inconvenient for teams then the league should stop calling the SB winner world champion.

Sure. Maybe one of the many other leagues that are just as good could have that title.

The last two times the Pats played in Jacksonville the games were in November and Christmas Eve. The last game, I would say was very close to 50%-50% pats verus Jags fans.

I'm hoping for a December game next year, as I will be down that way for Christmas.

The issue is winning. How many of these games have the patriots lost?

I get the impatience with the over-concern about this stuff. But it strikes me that it isn't a black and white issue, it is about incremental degrees of fatigue. Every team tries to manage this, as it eventually does contribute to wins/losses.

BB said it himself after the Mexico game this year - it was a total pain in the ass, and added a lot of logistical work.

For the record, I believe he said it was because Azteca was not set up for American football, not the trip to a foreign country per se.

You could really argue thats an even better reason to not call them world champions

The Olympics are done in one venue every 4 years. Should we call all the Gold Medalists from the last Brazilian champs?

You could do that, but it would make absolutely no sense at all.
