It's very simple, if brady played the way he's played the last 5 games the patriots chances of winning the SB are demonstrably lower than if he plays like he played in Oct and Nov.
I don't see how or why people would argue that fact.... So u think the patriots win the SB if he throws 5 td and 4 int and completes 55% of his passes over 3 games? Again, that oceanfront property I have in Detroit is a hot seller...

Completions and Yards are similair. It's the TDs and INTs that differ.

Which could absolutely be argued that it was affected by guys missing. 1 INT was him throwing to a guy that just got to town. 2 other INTs you could argue if Gronk isn't suspended for that game they probably don't happen.

I remember the early 90's when we were just the laughingstock of the NFL, and I just have this vivid memory of MacPherson running onto the field with a rolled up paper in his hand, and I was thinking that he was just doing that in an attempt to make it look like he knew what he was doing, after he let us all down by making us think he really had turned the team around the previous year, but then went 2-14. Now that was a heartbreaker after that damning 1-16 season.

And as you say, we'll never see this degree of supreme competency again. It has been an extraordinary blessing for New England to have this unparalleled reign of domination for so long.

This is interesting. Will this be a game plan feature?

In his fist 2 seasons in 27 Mariota ram an average of 3.5 times per game for 22 yards.

The first 4 games if this year he ran 5/29 them got injured.
Over the next 10 games he averaged 3/13.6 (more than 3 carries only twice)

In the last 2 games he has averaged 9/53.

It seems like Mariota is learning that running a lot isn’t smart, but in big games will run a lot ( which ironically probably hurts his team)

My instinct would be that the game plan will call for him to run a lot on read option keepers and escaping the rush. I could easily see 10+ carries, especially as we get a lead and they have to abandon the rb and throw a lot, leading to scrambles.
If Mariota is running a lot we are probably dominating the game.
