I don’t run anything here, but I do have the right to my opinion. I haven’t asked for any threads to be closed but I have said some should be moved to the appropriate forum. Political posts belong in the political forum, and threads about players who aren’t on the Patriots or aren’t going to be facing them belong in the NFL Forum. And while I don’t make any decision on them I or any other person here can recommend it.
I was saying “you” as in posters in general.

This whole sh*tstorm can best be summed up by
a quote from The Crown of a Life it was written by Isa Blagden:

>>>>If a lie is only printed often enough, it becomes a quasi-truth, and if such a truth is repeated often enough, it becomes an article of belief, a dogma, and men will die for it.<<<<<<<

This is far as I'll go with speculating what BB was thinking..

I do believe, from a long term planning perspective he wanted a reason to start Jimmy and move on from Tom. It had nothing to do with AG.

The reality of the situation is his 40 year old QB is still playing at a ridiculously high level and his demise cannot be projected at this time. Additionally, he is financially attractive and most importantly gives this team, and not Jimmy a better chance to win a SB this year and in 2018.
The best evidence to cite in support of your view is that BB waited until the last possible minute to make the deal. Following your line of thought, he saw for himself that Brady had played at a very high level for eight weeks/half the season; the Pats' bye just happened to coincide with the timing of the Trade Deadline. Brady had given him no reason to jump to the conclusion that he wouldn't be playing at a high level next season. Given the cap constraints, the deal had to be done. That's a neat and tidy argument.

To put it another way:

So a no talent hack tried to further his career by distributing misinformation? The Pats have faced this numerous times and always seem to be galvanized.

Pats haters are going to buy into it because they want so badly for it to be true but thinking people know that there’s nothing of substance.

I know this is Kraft's side of the story. But no way he says anything that would exacerbate the situation.

So my biggest take away is that it's interesting that BB is seeking Kraft's opinion on a Jimmy trade. Because the media would have you believe BB would quit if Kraft meddled with Brady. How dare the owner have a say on the people he employs. We'll actually BB checks with him regarding the back up QB so obviously he knows Kraft will have input on Brady.

Story over.

According to Peter King:

Wickersham, often working with fellow ESPN investigative reporter Don Van Natta, has an excellent history of NFL reporting, including stories about the Jerry Jones/Roger Goodell rift, the long Super Bowl hangover inside the Seattle Seahawks, and about the moves of the Rams and Chargers to Los Angeles and the Raiders to Las Vegas. Those stories, with the benefit of history, have largely been shown to be accurate.

Can someone please tell me where the specifics of any of those stories "were largely shown to be accurate"? Like this story, the only parts proven to be accurate were the high level ideas - the Seawhawks having a hangover, Jones not being happy with Goodell, the Chargers and Rams general move. The parties involved all denied (and no one proved) the specific accusations.

I thought it was pretty well established that BB talks with Robert Kraft before any major decision. Kraft wants him to justify these things basically, but it hasn't come out about him actively blocking anything. I think this was mentioned in Holley's book.

This isn't the typical backup QB decision.

Bedard has a write up of what his sources have told him and it seems pretty reasonable to me. He also says he doesn't expect it to derail the team this year or going forward, and that each of the parties is right in his own way.

Heard Seth again..for a bit...its always I think, I believe, could be.... Just like the piece it verifies what I think, its mostly speculation . He basically gathered all the theories and some fact from last months and came up with a conclusion .

Alternatively, he started with his conclusion and then worked to gather enough rumor and speculation that he could weave together with rigorously-selected actual facts to create a web of pseudo-factoids and subplots that supported his conclusion.
Closed for now

Open and let's stay on topic please.

So, you're saying no pizza recipes, then?

(sigh)

OOoookaaay. I guess so.

Really this is all the result of how Belichick runs the team. I'm not saying he runs it the wrong way, because I don't think that's the case at all, but this is the other edge to that sword. When there is no info for years and years coming out of an organization with a profile like our team the stuff that would be minor gets blown out of proportion and reported like nuclear meltdown is imminent.

**** all the giants fans jerking their tiny ****s over the pipedream that Belichick is leaving.

But those assholes have been laboring under the delusion that the Giants are the premiere team in the league and BB, deep down, always planned to go there after he's done with the scrub tier patriots.

Wake up ***gots, the Patriots are up there with the Steelers, Cowboys and 49ers now as the premiere dynasties in the history of the league, New York isn't even close.

Here's Adam Schefter (warning - ESPN video) refuting the Belichick to the Giants rumors. No sources other than his contract though, just logic.

I think there are dark days in our not too distant future

What bothers me is that the Pats dealt Brissett, then dealt Garoppolo and have Phillip Dorset and a 2nd rounder to show for it while they have a 40 year old QB

I think there a decent chance that Kraft went against B.B. for non football reasons, and if so, I think B.B. going to quit after this year. I also think that McDaniels will leave since garoppolo was his work of art and don’t think he’d be interested in coaching a 41 year old Brady and dealing with the arguments on the sideline.

I hope it’s not true, but that’s what it’s starting to smell like

It will be interesting to hear Brady when he get drilled at the next presser

Why the **** did that ass clown even write this shingle? Kraft just pretty well killed it in my mind. Bill coaches next year and he said it’s something that never happened. I do not get the hair raising feel he’s lying either.

What's his contract like? Anyway kraft can give him an extension? It's crazy to think what the guy in oakland's getting.

The giants would give draft capital for B.B. , no doubt

How is any about this interesting ? You said it yourself.. BB negotiated the entire trade and then checked with the owner of the team if he would sign off on that trade. That is how it is supposed to work..
