Almost halfway through my 20th year, on that fateful night of Dec 16, 1985, when a TV Guide Highlight caught my eye.

Google tells me TB was 8. Where'd the time go?

Patriots fan when I was 10... 1971, the year they drafted Jim Plunkett. They went 6-8 that year, and gave me hope (especially knocking the Colts out of the playoffs in the final game), but they couldn't get above .500, and were usually worse. Started 6-1 in 1974, and then everybody was injured... they finished 7-7.

Shortly thereafter, they dealt Plunkett for 3 first-round picks IIRC, then drafted Steve Grogan, and 1976 was my favorite season of football (until 2001 maybe). 11-3 and a bogus roughing call against the Raiders away from the AFC title game.

Oh, and most of you whippersnappers need to get off my lawn. :)

Hey, I was born in 1961 too. Bringing my chair over to your lawn.

I started watching the pats in the 70's (I was born in 71).

Kind of funny when I think you weren't even 10 when the Pats won there first superbowl.

I'll simply say, it wasn't always like this. And it won't go on forever. But no NFL teams fans have ever had a ride like we have. So enjoy it and appreciate it!

I started with the Pats right from the beginning (1960) when Butch Songin left his job as a prison guard to become our first QB. Before that time, the NY Giants were considered our "home team" and we had all their games on local TV, with Chris Schenkel doing the play-by-play. I never considered them our home team and was really excited when Billy Sullivan started the Boston Patriots franchise.

I know there are pics of me younger holding footballs and wearing Patriots gear, but I don't recall anything prior to 1971, when I was 7 years old. I then moved out of the country for two years, but my earliest memories are of Plunkett as QB and Julius Adams on the DL. I remember really getting interested when Cunningham and Hannah started with the team.

Happy birthday.

22. 23 in may. First game I watched was raiders vs patriots when I was 6. Can’t really remember much from the game but I vividly remember the Super Bowl that year.

Anyway I was watching the game vs the raiders with raiders fans. I rooted for the team wearing blue. Luckily they won. Good thing I picked them and not the raiders

Actually I was born in 1960... December 22. So when the 1971 season started I was 10... when it was over, I was 11.

They aged me that much!!!! LOL
Being a Patriots fan has taken years off my life. I always joke with my dad about his heart after the games. One of the patients in my mother's dialysis group actually died after last year's Superbowl. (He had heart problems so the Patriots didn't actually kill him).

Pats fan since middle school (late 90s). I started watching football then with my dad. Before then I played football and enjoyed it, just never had the patience or appreciation to sit and watch full games.

12.

When i started playing Pop Warner.

Just turned 40 in 2017.

And yet you still speak/write like a 5 year old. Very cute, very suspect.
thats one reason i'm known as CutiePie

would you like to know the other reason?

Been a fan since birth, first game I remember watching was 82 or 83 vs Houston and Earl Campbell. My father took me to the Ground Round and we watched most of the game on the big pull down projector and I stuffed my face with popcorn and Slider Sundaes. I was 8 or 9 then. But like most guys my age the 85 Super Bowl run got us hook, line, and sinker.
My first game in Foxboro was 89 vs Houston - a big Flutie victory over the heavily favored Oilers with Warren Moon. Got ST in 93 the second they hired Tuna. Sat in 223 until CMGI Field, and we moved to 313. Last season as ST holder was 2011 or 2012.
Only missed one game as a ST holder - vs Tennessee in 98, and that was for my mother's wake....
