James Harrison released

He's obviously not the guy he was, but I think he'd be better than Harris.
Different positions.

Harris is your backup ILB. No way BB is putting him on the outside anymore

Regardless I think they are riding M Flowers now at OLB

I'm wondering if he would even have the time to pick up the defense. I think that Pats pass on him just because it's so late in the season and they don't have time to teach him a complex defensive scheme they've been expanding all season.
How complex could “James, go sack the QB” be ?

Don’t want him because he’s a women beater POS but then again, it’d be funny to upset Pittsburgh. From a football stand point, I’m not so sure he has anything left, he’s probably on HGH but he’s ancient.

Harrison is a DE now. Actually he is a former DE now and will like stay that way.

That's not what the patriots do, they don't have a guy that just sacks the QB. He may need to cover or hold an edge or any number of assignments based on the offense

The could create a role for a guy who only comes in on 3rd and long and rushes the passer. They could also use him in 2 minute D.
Thwy have done it before, but Harrison isn’t the guy to do it with.

He's old, hates this team, and believes Spygate is the reason we beat them. No I don't want him here.

Bill Cowher would disagree --> Cowher dismisses impact of 'Spygate'

And it's quoted. It should actually be termed 'CameraInWrongLocationGate'.

CameraInWrongLocationGate was about as beneficial to the Pats as signing Harrison because he knows the Squeeler playbook would be(as mentioned above). Zero impact.

Having said that I thing the Pats should bring him in for his leadership qualities (I'm serious) and allow him to play 5 - 10 snaps a game throughout the playoffs.

I'm not saying he's done, although he probably either is done or can see done from where he's standing. I'm just pointing out that James Harrison hasn't cracked his team's game day lineup very often this year, and has mostly done nothing on those few occasions when he has.

But maybe he won't see done as easily if he's standing on a different field with the greatest coaching staff in football.

I dunno. Don’t think he’d contribute much more than Harris has...

Oh God this needs to happen. Steelers fans would flip.

photographic evidence!!!

As much as I would think it would be hilarious if he had numerous sacks against Pittsburgh, I don't see it happening, and I can't tell you how many of these "spotted at Logan" reports have been bogus.

Anytime you see the word "Logan" with a player's name it's either a troll or a joke.

Please.

“There's a rumor floating around that former #Steelers LB James Harrison was seen at Logan Airport this morning in Boston. Still unconfirmed.” #Patriots

“James Harrison spotted at Logan Airport this AM. Would be an all-time betrayal if he signed with Pats.”
