Watching the game when my wife said “he is playing like his age”. I said stfu, you have no ideas what you are talking about. Sure He’s been off at times but give me a break.

Put the old broad in her place nice. You should have told her to go back to where she belongs: THE KITCHEN LOLOLOLOLOLO

Hot takes and denial aside, here's the case: He's had a down month--but a few really quality stretches as well, such as the second half today, the 4th quarter of PIT, etc. I'm not sure it's as unprecedented as people think: I recall he kinda cooled off in the tail end of the 2014 regular season as well--and he ended up maybe his best postseason run of his career. And the INT/TD ratio is irrelevant; they've ran it in many times, at the end of drives where he made great throws. On the other hand, Five INTs in a row is disconcerting; even more so is him missing guys sometimes. Honestly I think it proves he's not comfortable with the cast or situation around him, or the scheme they're facing, then any sort of drop off.

But bottom line is he has little help on the outside besides Cooks, who isn't a chain mover, and the entire team as a whole hasn't quite kept the stride they seemed to have discovered during the big DEN-OAK road trip. And the MIA game alone makes me think he's banged up to some degree.

It's not Peyton's arm completely giving out in '14 and '15. It's not even the passing game looking as outright ineffective as it did for stretches in 2013. It's just a cold spell for a variety of reasons. It's by no means the cliff. The real point is, IF he's injured or something that would be a problem for this season.

Need hogan back. Cooks just don't have that physicality as a wr.

Football.....seems like pretty much normal for about any nfl game......

We've already had some theories discussed the past few weeks, but after today's pick 6... let's have another go at the topic. Long story short, what is wrong with Brady? He has been missing open receivers, has been throwing picks, etc. I'd say it is about the pass rush of the opposition, but even when the pressure isn't there he has been playing like the boogeyman is about to get him. In year's past, he's been hit more often but hasn't played like this for this number of games.

So, is this him fighting an injury? A disruption to his training regimen? A psychic disturbance from beyond the grave or Peyton with a voodoo doll? Marriage trouble? The beginning of the dive off the cliff (aka "This is 40, Part II")?

Today, Brady was a liability. The team would have beat the Bills 36-9 if you take away the pick 6. Brady had some good throws, but as many iffy ones. As a follow-up, who believes Brady can shake this off if they beat the Jets and get a bye/homefield?

Brady completed 75% of his passes, with an 8.0 ypa rate, and put up 37 points against a defense that had allowed just 14.0 points a game over the last month. And aside from the game-ending "drive" where they ended up taking a knee, during which time Hoyer was at QB, Brady had led the Patriots to scoring drives on 7 out of 9 drives, and following the INT, 6 consecutive: TD, FG, FG, TD, TD, TD.

I mean...come on.

Can’t believe I’m saying this... give me half of Brady and he’s still the best QB in this league. Anyone who doubts him is ridiculous. Time after time he comes up. The guy is human and is believe it or not allowed to make a mistake

Worst 4 TD, 37 point performance EVAH. #cliff.

And did it without White, Hogan and Burkhead who are 3 guys that are used in the passing game. Teams are hoping Hogan, White and Burkhead aren't healthy for the playoffs.

I seem to recall Hogan and White being the 2 guys that had big playoff games last year. Hogan in the AFCC and White in the SB.

I agree Hogan is surprisingly huge missing element, which is a credit to how great he's been since signing here. Really a damn shame Malcolm Mitchell isn't gonna come back barring some miracle.

I'm sorry, but THIS is stupid.

Brady's playing with one known injury (bruised achilles), almost certainly a number of other ones brought on by heaps of abuse, a decimated receiving core, a porous and injured offensive line, a mediocre to average backfield, and an at best bend and but don't (hopefully but not likely) break defense.

Of course he's looked bad. He's been forced to throw a helluva lot, under constant pressure even against teams with horrible pass rushes, with an inconsistent run game that opposing teams don't really respect. The only target he has that manages to gain separation is Gronk; everyone else is consistently struggling against man coverage.

Not my quote, I don't agree with the backfield analysis, but I was wondering what others thought about it.

Is this sarcasm? Satire? Something new? It's too grammatically correct to be pure lunacy. It's confusing, since the content makes no sense.

You do realize he just secured NFL MVP today........... what are you talking about. NFP MVP isn't good enough for you? You want 2007 Brady every season? 5k pass yards, 50ish TDs and no more than 5 ints? lol.
It is a little of all of the above (sarcasm, satire, commentary). I mainly want to understand why Brady's interception total has increased dramatically the past month compared to any stretch in recent memory. It would appear it is mainly a combination of man-to-man being used more by the opposition, different looks being thrown at him, and injuries to key personnel. Even with those picks, Brady is still a top 2 quarterback in the NFL - but even he has to be wondering why he is throwing some of those balls when, in your average Brady performance of the past 10 years, he avoids them.

In terms of the lunacy, I thought a little (to a little more than a little) absurdity helps to get everyone to theorize in an outside of the box manner. It seems the thread touched a nerve, even if it got me a ton of "funny" and "disagree" emojis.

ps. I do want 50-5 or better. Standards, man. Gotta have em.

I want to throw in my opinion on this, which won't be all too favorable, so be ready:

I feel like we are seeing the decay. It's not a cliff, or anything like that, but it's a small hole, that will be kept being dig game after game by Father Time.

Some throws, specially at the beginning of games, lack power. It's noticeble how much thrust he's putting in 10 yard throws to the sideline, which is something that he has never done before. Also. if we compare how much he was moving in the beginning of the season to now, his stiffness is much more evident

Is he injured? Yes. Is he more or less injured than last year or the year before (when he was getting murdered in every snap) ? I can't say...

This will be the first time I'll try to predict Brady's future, hopefully he proves me wrong, like he has proven everyone in the league so far: Next season will be the last season we see Brady as a Top 3 QB in the League.

Man, this is a horrible post. I started watching this damn sport because of him.... I don't know what will happen to my motivation for the NFL when he retires :(
Some of us on here are ready to jump off the NFL bandwagon when Brady and Belichick retire. I'm not. I'd like to see the Patriots find a way to continue to win because they have a system in place that can translate into future winnings.

Honestly, I don't think Josh McDaniels is the heir apparent. Not only is he likely to be gone at the end of this season to the New York Giants or another cushy landing spot, but he also lacks the quiet resolve of a Belichick. I'd like to see Matt Patricia as our future head coach. He has done wonders with far less than Josh and he commands a ton of respect from everyone. Here's hoping one of those two takes over - I'd like to see the Patriot way is about the Patriot way more than one player and one coach.
