Why the Jets leaked this red-herring to the media

I guess I am splitting hairs again, we all know the rat who tipped off security. I am ok with that.

What would bother me whole lot if it is found that Mangini went to the media with the story, If EM leaked this to the press he is a gomer for doing so.

If someone would do that how far is it to suppose the same person would leak it to the media? That isn't a very big leap in logic I don't think. He already broke a cardinal rule (which IMO is worse than a technical NFL rule)..he is a rat and I really have no doubt he leaked it, trying to save his job..hoping for an excuse for getting his *** handed to him in the game.

Here is my take....

Did the Pats cheat? Yeah as much as every team in the league does. Stealing signals is either "cheating" or gamesmanship period.

Did the Pats break a rule? Apparently it seems they did according to "sources"...so if we assume they did video the D signals they did not CHEAT anymore than any other team in the league. They did however violate a NFL rule for the cameras...(apparently most NFL teams do this, but locate their cameras elsewhere...the field camera probably is better because it would be harder to "avoid" the camera and can be assured of getting a good view regardless of the D coaches position???)

Should the Pats be punished if they violated this rule? Absolutely! But lets get real..."cheaters"???? It may appear to be excuse making but come on EVERYONE is saying every team does it. So how is that an excuse for DOING IT if EVERYONE IS doing the same thing? Oh if another team does it it is gamesmanship, but the Pats doing it is CHEATING???

Is this a mountain out of a mole hill? Yeah I really can't think of a bigger non story recently in any sport.

Is Mangina a rat? Absolutely!...and rats abandon a sinking ship....unfortunately for the Jets Mangina is also the captain. He is losing that team if he hasn't already and I don't think you will find many defenders in his players for his actions. They got beat and the players know it and manned up...him? I don't think so...rats point fingers and he has a big old foam finger on pointing at everyone but himself.

Do I hate the Jets? Yep! You know what? I never liked Pennington either, but when I saw him hopping around on his leg the other day I was screaming for him to stay on the ground after it was obvious he was really hurt. Guys got some stones IMO.

You know how MOST coaches act when this is done to them (stealing signals and stuff..)? Here is the quote from the oft mentioned GB game where the Pack "caught" the Pats doing the same thing.....

"Asked why the Packers didn’t file a complaint following the 35-0 defeat, a Green Bay executive replied, “Because it’s not the reason they kicked our ***.”

I think Brady said something to the same effect when the doofins admitted to buying a tape of the audibles for our O (and used it all game I might add...but there was no talk of a forfeit then was there?)

Is there a double standard? Yeah but not what many people that hate the Pats think...see above...does that seem equal to you?

This is boarderline rediculous.

Mangina is going to be the big loser in all of this IMO when it is all done. Yeah us Pats fans will have to listen to the uninformed idiot fans that have an IQ lower than their shoe size but what is new???

I do not know how the story got out.

But as for your reasons why the Jets/Mangini leaked the story (if in fact they did), they are good ones.

It was reported several times on ESPN that Man-gina called for the NFL Security to apprehend the cameraman....as to a direct link....I have not seen one.....But know this ....Mangina knows Belichick......knows his staff.....KNOWS EVERYTHING......When he saw the game going desperately down hill and watched his team getting their A##es handed to them.....He had to start grabbing at straws to avoid getting CRUCIFIED in the NY Media on Monday morning.....so he crucified his Mentor instead.....(analogies: Darth Vader turning on Obe wan........Brutus turning on Ceasar......Pontius Pilot turning on......well you get the picture....and yeah these are weak analogies...) But that is my feeling.....IF Old Pumpkinhead ended up winning this game .....NONE of this would have been brought to light.....Man-gina will go down in NFL history as being a weak, spineless coward after this kind of gutless move.........F' The bloated male vag#$a!!!

Wouldn't a bigger spot be after we kicked the Jets ass in the playoffs last year? Why didn't Mangini accuse them then? Hurt the Pats during a Super Bowl run? Was it simply because really 3 of the last 4 games between the Pats and Jets haven't been close (yes last years first game was not a close game even though it was a 7 point win that game was a blowout).

This will be long forgotten by the time playoffs roll around. We'll be talking about the newest Bengal that was arrested the day before the big playoff game or something.

Actually, the players understand very well. You seem unable to grasp the idea of multiple signals.

From now on we will use the Bravo set. When I am wearing my hat, it is the Alpha set, otherwise it is the Bravo set. If ....
