Mark Cuban contrasts the growth in NBA popularity vs NFL's shrinkage. CTE a big factor in parental choice for sports. NBA appealing to younger demographic vs NFL's appeal to geezers like moi.

Says people don't recognize NFL players like they do NBA players with only guys like Brady, Gronk and maybe The Squirrel instantly recognized by the public.

Lots of praise for the Celtics (my first love, 60s Russell era) org.

Bulpett: Outspoken Mark Cuban lets loose on NBA vs. NFL

What Cuban fails to realize is the absolute business and marketing brilliance by The 32 in extending genius league savior Rog Goodell's contract 5 more years which will increase NFL growth & revenue bigly.

If Roger is our savior, I'm sorry....I'm with her...

The CTE stuff is true, youth football through High School has taken a huge hit. He loses me with the NBA, there's Curry and LeBron after that it really falls off as far as star power. On the football side, beside Brady and Co. You have JJ Watt, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Antonio Brown, and rising Stars like Went and Goff. Obviously, he has an interest in promoting the NBA.

Off topic, but it’s nice to see a rock band’s videos and songs once in a while. I remember watching a prospect video, and they used a song by 311 instead of the usual hip hop, was pleasantly surprised.

The Pretty Reckless have a good sound, don’t know the lead singer’s name, but they were touring with Sound Garden when Chris Cornell commit suicide and they said she took it pretty hard. She did some Soungarden songs as a tribute during their tour, and they were very touching, powerful versions. My respect for her grew big time.

Taylor Momsen....shudders with lust...

Does Cuban know they wear helmets and face masks? Duh.

Ratings changes largely reflect methodology, not changes to the underlying reality. Other changes are cyclical. Rated NASCAR viewership has basically cratered, while a decade ago it was being touted as America's number 1 sport. Reports of the NFL's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

it's only tolerable with beer
Eh I disagree. We went to Chicago in the summer and caught a Cubs game. I had plenty of beer and literally still fell asleep in the chair. I kept having to pick my head up and looked next to me and my girl was falling asleep, too.

I don't particularly like nor dislike Mark Cuban. Anyone who chooses to can dislike his comments on this matter. But, in my opinion, he's saying more here that's true rather than false when he talks about the futures of the NBA vs. the NFL, and basketball vs. football in general.

After all is said and done, it’s about the game.....the game of basketball is great, but the game of football provides a much better show. Strategy, intrigue, diversity of atheletes possessing many unique and different skills and of course the involvement of football coaches is a game within the game. Football is clearly on a way higher level in my opinion.

Coincidentally, this very topic is about to be discussed on BST on NBC Sports Boston.
