Time for Gronk to apologize to US

I don't know. On election day I was training for the marathon (race), when I fell and banged my head (concussion), which kept me from standing during the anthem and caused me to forget to vote. Now, what was it we were talking about???
I forget.....

He apologized immediately after the game. Are we like BOB Ryan where going to criticize the apology? Time for everyone to move on.
This was the plot of the Curb Your Enthusiasm finale last week.

Overreactions abound. I think I heard an interview with an ex NFL TE this week who remembers choking and throwing an opponent to the ground after being held for most the game. Where was the months of outrage then?!

When he retires after this season and begins his WWE career maybe he WILL be a bad guy!

When will he think of the CHILDREN?

just kidding, by the way...

He apologized to the player and he likely has apologized to his teammates, in private, for being unavailable. That's PLENTY.

Or turn on his good-guy tag-team partner, like Handsome Jimmy Valiant did to Chief Jay Strongbow. Nothing gets marks more riled-up than that.

We'll see, I guess. But I don't think the long term impact will be anywhere near as dire as you describe, Ken.

How many more Gronk threads do we need?

I'll accept cash in lieu of apologies, Gronk.

Has the world really got that sensitive now, that we're looking for footballers to apologize to the fanbase for dirty hits?

What next, a candlelit vigil and charity single for all victims of season ending IR?
I don't find jokes about season ending trips to the IR funny.

Otherwise, the hit on Gronk was provoked so, while he was in the wrong, I do agree that he doesn't owe us as fans any apologies. If the penalty for the hit had cost the Pats the game, I think he would have owed an apology to his teammates. My guess is that he's probably already apologized to them for making them play the Dolphins this week without him.

(I do think it was appropriate that Gronkowski apologized to White and that Belichick apparently apologized to McDermott.)

Everyone today thinks everything is about themselves. “Gronk has to apologize to me”. Get over yourselves.

Buddy you're on a forum in which everyone is posting incessantly about the deep personal loyalty we feel to an uncaring for-profit brand and how it affects us.

"What it costs US"

Nothing. Nothing at all. Any perceived debt owed by the Patriots organization to the fan base is paid in full every game-day, and the interest is paid during the preparation made for that week.

Gronk made a decision that was totally out of character - he let his emotions get the best of him and he's paying the price. Any crap doled out by others needs only one response - "Yup, for that one play Gronk was as dirty as any player. One play."

Deep down, everyone knows this, and the odds are seriously in favor of Gronk never repeating this act again.
