Gronk gets 1 game

If you think about it, calling someone a **** soyboy is much more insulting to the person who is using the term. At least use a term that more than a few people even know. All I see is " **** boytoy " when I read it, which admittedly may say something about my psychological makeup.

Calling Andy a doo-doo head would have actually been less lame because at least all of us know what doo-doo is.

The 1 game suspension is fine, I guess.

Cmon now. I love Gronk too, but let’s see things objectively.

The Bills CB was lying on the sideline out of bounds, stomach down, and Gronk drops a cheap shot people’s elbow with all his weight on the guys neck. Comparing that Alonso hit not even remotely close.

That was a BS cheapshot by Gronk. Even BB agrees.

never disputed or defended that......i'm ok with the suspension, especially with an appeal still in play

i simply dislike the NFL's inconsistent enforcement of their own rules.....both in game and the fine/suspension process

looking at talib's history, his recent suspension was a joke

Gronk's penalty is consistent with Evans, I'll give them that......but I'd also argue Evans was worse....we're looking at Gronk's through the lens of the inury/fact that gronk has 90lbs on the kid, and i'm not sure how that should factor.....but we have AJ Green throwing a guy down and firing punches, and no suspension.....there's just selective enforcement, as much as there's selective enforcement in game

Ideal scenario... Gronk appeals, plays vs Miami, loses appeal, sits vs Bills.

The appeals process, assuming it happens, will be done by Thursday at the latest. This won't be a Zeke Elliott-type thing that drags out for weeks.

This is the problem. Football is a game of collisions. People get hurt.
Flacco was running to the first diwn market. Alonzo’s job is to him hit and drive him backward.
Flacco sliding at the last second out his head when his thighs, the correct point of contact should be.
Football isn’t played in slow motion and if Alonso played so slow that he checked to see whether flacco was sliding he wouldn’t be in the NFL. Frankly this shouldn’t have even drawn a penalty but they have this stupid rule that the defender is responsible for where he delivers the hit even if the target moves while he is delivering.
I don't blame Alonzo for going after Flacco. Where he deserves the flag and the fine was delivering a forearm blow directly to his head. That was what was unnecessary on the play. It was the same kind of forearm shiver that he unnecessarily threw at Brady on a pass rush....without any call. The hit might have been MARGINALLY late, but I didn't think so. What I DID object to was the forearm blow.

BTW- in my mind Gronk's hit was worse because he had a second before he went after White.

BTW-2 - I know this isn't the way it works, but truer justice for the Bills would be that Gronk's suspension be carried out for the Bills rematch. That would seem fairer in my mind.

BTW-3 - We all know that Bill is pissed a Gronk over this. Not only because it was a bullsh!t move on his part, but because he hurt the team. I think it wouldn't be beyond the pale that BB makes Gronk inactive for the Bills game later this month. THAT would be the ultimate lesson to the big guy. Just sayin'

Disagree on the 2 games comment, but I agree about him shutting his mouth..

It was obviously wrong what he did and extremely flagrant, just apologize and move on

I think he doesn't know how to explain what he did or why. He has a relatively clean career despite be targeted at the knees a lot by 5th ward, etc.. His only other incidents include a scrap the in playoffs where it seemed both players engaged, and the play where he drove a db on his arse way out of bounds. So this one was a lot out of character for him and he is in a strange place having to explain it. Should say no comment and apologize. But also I believe he lost his mind over competition rage. At least people will hopefully treat him different after showing a nasty streak. I think this is a good thing for the team and Gronk long term. Just pay the fine, do the time, and move on.

Gronk was wrong, but Jeez!!
F' this BS league.
I dispise the whole, currupt crap fest.

The refs pushed him too far. F' em.

I'm counting the days till I stop watching "reality TV". BS

Sucks but doesn't feel dirty like some other Patriot dealings with nfl's disciplining

Also I wouldn't read much into what 4chan thinks it means to be a man, lol.

RW I hope Gronk appeals and wins. I’m
A fan of the team.

But if they deny his appeal, and he serves the suspension, I’m ok with that too. I actually think the NFL got this one right.

Imagine if Charles Clay did that same exact cheapshot to Malcom Butler. We’d be asking for his head. There’s no room for those kind of cheap shots in sports.
I'm with you.

If Gronk wins the appeal- Great

If he loses it, I do agree what he did was awful and it is what it is. He serves it and is back for Pitt.

Life go on.

Ken, if you look at the video, Gronk was waiting for Dorsett to get out of the way before piling on. That’s why be hesitated.

That just makes it worse, Tommy. It shows he was thinking clearly enough that he didn't want to hit his teammate. Congratulations, ou just made the case for premeditation .

Right, but Gronk didn’t stutter step to pile drive the guy’s head, which some people are arguing. He was concerned for the safety and well-being of his teammate haha.

Somehow I doubt he'll try to make that argument in the appeal hearing. "The hit was late because I was only trying to hurt White, I didn't want to hurt Dorsett too so I waited."

He was looking for a flag.
So he attacked White for not getting a flag from the Refs. That doesn't actually make him look better. You're making the case for premeditated targeting, and I honestly think that if the league was sure Gronk was targeting White on purpose with that little hit he would have gotten more than 1 game.

His only viable defense might be that he wasn't sure White was down (despite being like 3 feet out of bounds and on his stomach). Otherwise the hit is absolutely inexcusable especially with contact to the head area.

I worry about these losers taking a cheap shot at another player from our team if gronk doesn't play in that buffalo game.

I think McDermott would control that if Belichick added another level of punishment beyond just the league office..

but I do think they should sit Gronk for the Buffalo game just in case

those defenders could very realistically try to get payback and take a knee out or something.. we need him for a legitimate playoff push, the offense has sustained too many big hits to keep chugging along with a piece like Gronk falling off on the highway

Saying Gronk hurt the team do belichick needs to punish him by hurting the team makes no sense to me.
He got his punishment, a suspension.

I can’t see B.B. saying to teach you a lesson that you did something that could hurt the team and could and did get you suspended I’m going to make a decision that hurts the team exactly the same way.

So who gets the # 1 seed if the Patriots end up 13-3, Steelers 12-4, but Steelers beat Patriots? Does head to head only count if both end up with the same # of losses?

As for the suspension, it's warranted.
Are you honestly asking who is the 1 seed if one team has a 13-3 record and the other a 12-4 record?
