Wow. They are stupid over there saying all that. Don’t think I’ve seen it suggested here to harm players
They're not the only ones.

The result was 5 interceptions in the first half.Only the way it was handled was indefensible. The decision itself makes sense.
Taylor's last 4 games leading up to his benching:
vs Oak: 165 yards passing, 6.1 YPA which is not very good
vs NYJ: 285 yards passing which is good but 7 sacks which isn't.
vs Saints: 56 yards passing, 33 passer rating, 3.1 YPA. No comment necessary
vs Chargers: 158 yards passing, 6.3 YPA
Why not try and stop the bleeding before your season turns south. Especially since Taylor is simply not good enough to take you to the next level. Even yesterday he was nothing special.
This is not even close to a Doug Flutie-Rob Johnson scenario. THAT was indefensible.

You are defending the move by saying Taylor played a hell of a lot better than than so it was smart.
You don’t stop the bleeding when you are in a playoff slot to throw in a guy who can’t play.
Snowstorms
It’s his job to know if the guy is ready.Hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure he wouldn't have done it if the outcome was known ahead of time. Doesn't mean he's wrong for trying.
""A banged up Patriots squad heading to Pittsburgh (who know fully well they need to win that game for any realistic shot at the Superbowl)""
No, just no. For any "realistic" shot at the SB the Patriots just need to earn a bye to get that first week off and allow some extra healing. Beyond that, anyone who thinks this team can't go into Pittsburgh in an AFCCG and get a win hasn't been watching the Steelers or the Patriots the last month, and hasn't been paying attention to the Patriots in general.
I think you misread that. I said Pittsburgh needs HFA for a realistic shot at the SB.
Well damn YGM, get your grammar and syntax right! .
My bad on misreading it. Apologies...
It’s his job to know if the guy is ready.
He wasn’t. That makes it a terrible decision.
Do you think nfl hc get paid to try and see if players can play and if they suck and lose they did a job trying?
They were 5-4 and in possession of a wild card.AJ, I agree it was risky for the HC of the BB to pull Taylor, however, the Bills were tanking badly. Hard to castigate a coach for trying something to halt the slide as this slide is going to result in his slide right out of the HC of the BB job. So what can you change when your D is tanking and your O is tanking? In this instance he tried a QB that had been given some 6 minutes of junk time the previous week in which he went 7-10 for 80 yards. That small stretch of junk time was suggestive of maybe he was an unknown that would surprise. Again risky? Absolutely. Worth a try given the tanking going on? The results suggest that yes it was a failed move.
Fyi, I am(or was) a forced VT watcher (close female friend who is an Alumni). Taylor was not an NFL QB in the waiting at VT. I give Taylor credit for sitting on the bench and learning the craft, learning what he could and couldn't do, then doing it as well as he could (I said exactly that in a post here during the preseason -- even a little waxing poetic). But if Taylor is your QB you are, IMHO, stuck with either needing a shutdown D and potent running game or you are a team relegated to mediocrity. Buff had a decent run game and decent D to start so Taylor worked. Once these two areas started waning you are basically dead in the water with Taylor. IMHO...
I prefer to watch it so I end up going to a bar.Chefs/Jete here too. Welp, 98.5 Sports Hub for me again.
Only the way it was handled was indefensible. The decision itself makes sense.
