We're on to Buffalo

You have to be impressed with how they played this week.

After last week they had every reason to lay down and throw their hands up. KC was absolutely desperate for this win. Nothing was easy for them to do that day but they gutted out a tough win against KC @ KC.

Taylor is the kind of QB that gives the Pats trouble. His runs and movement keeps drives alive. Their D has had some let downs but also some solid games. They have a very good defensive passer rating and have only allowed 9 passing TDs all year. They are playing for a WC and will be at home. They have the tools to give Brady a hard time.

We'll see what happens. I think this will be a harder test than the Dolphins. They like to get in rock fights (and not in a dirty way). I expect the Pats to just out execute them but this to me is a legit winning team. Take away last week which was a coach nearly intentionally sinking his team and they are 6-4

I don't want to oversell them but I think the Pats could have a fairly tough game even with solid execution.
I think game will feel tough into the 4th, then Pats separate for 2 score win.

On our Walking wounded Hogan and Cannon gotta be back this week enough is enough.

The schedule IS a reason to expect it. 4 cupcakes and the Steelers.

3 straight road games is tough for any team regardless of how good they are. The @Bills and @Miami games are probably going to be "rock fights" regardless of the final score.

A banged up Patriots squad heading to Pittsburgh (who know fully well they need to win that game for any realistic shot at the Superbowl) is going to have a hard time.

Torn meniscus in right knee.... return timetable unclear.

I'll take it....

We need to respect the opponent. We frequently lose in Miami and Buffalo is not a pushover. Stuff happens, many injuries. I hated the 19-0 talk, I hate dismissing future opponents.

People badmouthing McDermott for the QB change but Taylor had not played well for 2 games, the other QB impressed in practice and the coach anticipated a different result . He did what he thought best.

So let me get this straight. He benches the QB that kept him in the playoff hunt despite cleaning house in terms of talent and gives the starting job to the rookie in an away game against one of the best rushing duos (Ingram, Bosa) in the league. If doing this is what he thought is best then oh boy he might just be a bigger imbecile than Adam Gase.

At this point the JETE coach is most probably the second most competent coach in the AFCE.

There really is no evidence that road games being consecutive make them any different than any other road game.
I see no reason the patriots would lose to buffalo or Miami in the road, at home or on Uranus, and I think they are a better team with a matchup advantage against Pittsburgh.

Look at it this way. The 5 are much easier competition than the 7 in a row we’ve just won.

No, just no. For any "realistic" shot at the SB the Patriots just need to earn a bye to get that first week off and allow some extra healing. Beyond that, anyone who thinks this team can't go into Pittsburgh in an AFCCG and get a win hasn't been watching the Steelers or the Patriots the last month, and hasn't been paying attention to the Patriots in general.

Why do we need to respect he opponent? My confidence or opinion has zero impact on the game.
Buffalo actually is a pushover and that team we played yesterday isn’t beating us anywhere.

Impressed running the scout team?
It was a terrible decision. If he thought that was best for his team he may actually be a downgrade from their last clown coach Rex Ryan.

I think he meant we can’t win because the Steelers think they need it to go to the SB and you know they will care more so we can’t beat them.

I read it as the Steelers needing to win on 12/17 to have any realistic shot at the Super Bowl, not the Pats.

Don't know about that but either way - it's true that Pitt's road to the Super Bowl must go through us. Again.

Tyrod Taylor is who he is. He can start in this league for a bad team but there's just too many flaws in his game to be a viable starting QB for a team that has playoff aspirations.

I get the decision to try something new, even if it should have been handled much better than it was.

Agreed. We know the Patriots/BB will pursue Sunday like they are facing the 85 Bears. But from a fan perspective we can look at the Bills' 36 meaningful points over the last month (9 PPG not counting garbage time) and justifiably think the Bills stink.......which they do.....which the Patriots don't.....which short of 'Any Given Sunday' is very likely a win for the Patriots.

Kudos to the Bills' for getting the win in KC and probably saving their season (if not temporarily). Their impressive 183 yards passing and 104 yards rushing (including QB scrambles) was able to get it done against a KC team that has lost 5 of its last 6 including a previous week's loss to the mighty Giants.

If I read it the wrong way, my bad.

Pulling a qb who has you at 5-4 to insert an overwhelmed 5th round drafted rookie who goes on to throw 5 picks in the first half is indefensible.

Wow. They are stupid over there saying all that. Don’t think I’ve seen it suggested here to harm players

Only the way it was handled was indefensible. The decision itself makes sense.

Taylor's last 4 games leading up to his benching:
vs Oak: 165 yards passing, 6.1 YPA which is not very good
vs NYJ: 285 yards passing which is good but 7 sacks which isn't.
vs Saints: 56 yards passing, 33 passer rating, 3.1 YPA. No comment necessary
vs Chargers: 158 yards passing, 6.3 YPA

Why not try and stop the bleeding before your season turns south. Especially since Taylor is simply not good enough to take you to the next level. Even yesterday he was nothing special.

This is not even close to a Doug Flutie-Rob Johnson scenario. THAT was indefensible.
