It's S.O.P. for those kinds of reports to pop up in situations like this. However, people can't pretend to be logically consistent if they were using Schefter as their reason for saying the Patriots weren't trading JAG in the offseason and now try to minimize reporting (Schefter was on board with the idea that there were first round picks offered for JAG).
Yea I fell hook, line and sinker the Mary Cabot speculation CLE was offering #12 when they weren't. She didn't know squat or was being fed bad info by BB as she and he are buddies.

Brian Hoyer had a winning record in both Houston and Cleveland.
Brian Hoyer was putting up good numbers on a garbage team in Chicago before he got hurt.

He may not be an elite QB, but he can play the position.
My brother is a 49er who never misses a play. He has hated every 49er qb since young.
I asked him about hoyer this year and he said hoyer was fine, but he had to run for his life every play so that tells me both that hoyer wasn’t benched for sucking and jimmy is walking into a meat grinder.

But unlike San Fran, Jax has no backup QB to include in the deal. This is just another dimension to the massive F up by Belichick. By not trading JG in the offseason and then trading Brissett to Indy, the Pats limited themselfs to a single trading partner!

BB did everything imaginable to minimize JG’s value. I seriously wonder if he’s showing signs of Alzheimer’s.

Good thing JG is durable!

I don't get why there is so much hate for your post.

I mean has any team in the history of the NFL traded away all of their backup QBs in the same year?

The year of trading Patriots QBS for nothing.

Didn't the 49ers have a bust WR to throw in the deal and ride the bench like Dorsett?

A high 2nd is nothing?

A high second and a backup qb who knows the system and has started and won a bunch of nfl games is a lot more than nothing.

Man, once Brady leaves we are all gonna need some serious therapy...

Don't undermine the GOAT coach, he won't ride this ship to the bottom of the ocean, he'll find the next one before its over which will be more than likely in the '18 draft

And chance at one of the Josh's Allen or Rosen?

Then try to get a coach to follow in BBs shoes that's why it has to be a coach he groomed McDaniels or if the Texans are dumb enough to fire Obrein

Here is my guess on what happened: BB wanted to keep Jimmy G in case TB fell off a cliff. In the meantime, they were asking for a first ( Future stud QB draft) for J.G. Brissett would've been the backup in 2017. They got no offers for JG they liked, Brissett was traded. The plan was to keep TB and JG all season. Alas, SF calls and offers up the best package they can probably get ( They probably knew no team would offer up a first). They take the offer because GOAT is still playing elite and JG likely would've walked ( Because they weren't going to move on from Brady) for nothing in the offseason. BB probably believes they are screwd either way ( Hoyer or JG) if Brady goes down. The plan is to ride him out and get as many SB's as possible.

In essence BB had to weigh possibly regressing ( 2018, 2019) for a chance at more SB's down the road or giving them a chance in 2017, 2018, 2019 to win with regression following. They decided Brady is worth holding onto over moving on from him in a season or so and going to Jimmy G.

How far off do y'all think I am? Close?
