NFL Week 5 Games

That is easy to say watching the game and I don't necessarily disagree with you. But you need 7 to win. You get the 7 however you can. To many variables to make it that simple. Defense needs to make plays.

You have 3 more tries and need 2 yards for another first down. You at least run once to take the clock to about 30 seconds (or let GB at least burn their TO). I am sorry but this is not a hectic, never-before-seen situation but this is endgame 101.

This loss is on the coaching staff and not on the defense. At what point did the defense show that they can stop GB in the second half ? The coaching staff needs to take this into account the same way BB did that when he correctly went for 4th & 2. Similarly I will defend the way the Pats played the final sequence against the Seahawks last year at home. It didnt work out but on paper it was still perfectly played to not give the opponent another meaningful possession.

Dude. Did I say rodgers was better than brady? I said mvp candidate. The guy's a great QB. I don't know why people get up in arms. You have to admit though he has had crappy coaching. That defense's lousy as well. Would love to see a brady vs rodgers Super Bowl.

Nobody is up in arms. But it is a month and 1 week into the season. Just way too early to be talking about MVP anything. A lot can happen over 12 weeks and This one game doesn't define a season.

In baseball the player gets to choose, wearing a cap of his choice.

A player simply enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame, without that specific team designation. A HoF player is normally listed with the team he was with for the majority of his career. If it is equal both teams are listed; this happened for example with Nick Buoniconti (7 years with Patriots, 7 years with Dolphins) and Mike Haynes (7 seasons with Pats, 7 with Raiders).

In Vinatieri's case he would technically be considered a Colt (12 seasons) rather than a Patriot (10 seasons) if forced to designate only one team.

Actually they now list a person on all the teams he was with (something relatively new as far as I know) on the Pro Football Hall of Fame website.

I loved Adam, but I don't want him to go into the HOF as a Pat. He's a Colt.

Rodgers is great, no doubt about it. However, the media try so hard to push him as Brady's equal. Manufactured debate, and that's what's the most annoying.
I dont understand how its a manufactured debate. The guy has basically been single handedly carrying that franchise for a decade now. He doesnt have a BB or front office to help him out because mike mccarthy is a jag HC. Im not saying hes TB because i easily agree that Brady is the goat and its not particularly close.

But to try and argue that Rodgers doesnt deserve credit for his greatness is nothing but insecure stupidity. Theres no rule that says Brady is the only QB in the league thats allowed to recieve credit for his greatness, so again stop being so insecure

State of the AFC:

Chiefs, Pats, Broncos, Texans + the rest?

If you told us the beginning of the season that Reid/Smith was the obstacle in the way to a SB trip, I'd like our chances.

Still early to tell. This team will be tested pretty soon again and they have a brutal second half of a schedule.

Its going to be an unbearable week, the media is going is going to give Rodger a super ball wash.

Its not ballwashing if the guy has earned it.. hes an incredible QB, deal with it. Hes not gonna overcome TB12 as the goat anytime soon so stop being so insecure

Are you insane? Rodgers is going to surpass Brady as the GOAT? Soon?

And BTW....for those saying Rodgers is the only one who can do that....remember this a couple week ago?

Literally no one said that. Learn how to read and re-read my post, i said the exact opposite of what youre saying.

I said hes no threat to Brady's legacy so stop being so insecure about giving him credit.

Like I said I don't really disagree with you. But I also don't think they expected to score on a read option from the 20 or wherever they were. I think they were just looking to pick up the first down. And once the field opens the way it did, you can't ask Dak to not score. That is what I meant by too many variables, it is what it is.

The one thing I hate about this Board is the Rodgers hate. He had Brady’s back against the Owners and their Jetdell lackey when few others did. If you can’t see that Rodgers is a great QB, stop watching the game. You have no appreciation for football.

Things are going well for the Giants...uhhh, not so much. It's heartbreaking...

"I must have been away too long... because my feelings are dead. I feel no remorse."

Can we find a way to get that Giants/Broncos game next week off Sunday Night Football? Please NBC?

It's just a matter of time before flex scheduling is full season thing

They should be able to flex 2 games during this period, no? So I think they would do it, but it's the Giants which is like the top tv market. So I don't know if they will? But they really should.

Up to 2 games may be flexed into Sunday Night between Weeks 5-10

NFL Flexible Scheduling

Edit: Nevermind it's too late! ****ing NYJFL* wanted this game. Pathetic!

The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET. The announcement will come no later than 12 days prior to the game. The NFL may also announce games moving to 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:25 p.m. ET.
