2018 Draft Prospect Thread

Ronald Jones is another guy in this loaded running back class. I'm sure we'll see some Charles comps. Seems like a good guy raised right. Wears his father's dog tags and comes from working class family. Grounded.

Hello fellow draft people.. anyone seen any in particular that's caught your eye so far? Haven't watched any college football yet due to work.. would appreciate a list of names to look at if.. I like Malik Jefferson just for his athletic ability but that's all I've seen so far

I'm updating my list in my thread as we speak.

I thought Jefferson was lacking instincts and natural awareness but he looks like he might be putting everything together?

He could be a monster if he really peaks his potential

Lamar Jackson & Sam Darnold are both 20. Darnold turned 20 in June. Jackson in January.

Both babies that can and prob should stay another year.

Darnold IS USC so that makes sense. His grandfather, **** Hammer (Top 5 Name Ever?) went to USC and has an athletic family going back 3+ generations. Darnold has to clean up his mechanics and work on decision making and footwork imho. He's super talented though with accuracy. A bend it like Beckham arm that can just make the ball in places only his WR can get to. Poise and Rises to the occasion. Great touch.

Jackson has to add weight imo to really succeed at the next level. Hes going to take hits with his style and they'll be by guys weighing 245-290+. Also he has to manipulate the pocket better to stay in as a passer. He has the ability to 100%. Manipulate it and recognize a clean pocket. Also better accuracy attacking outside the #'s. Again Jackson is an incredible QB that has what it takes.

Both could be monsters with some tinkering.

Royce Freeman is quietly averaging over 150 yards rushing through three games. Pretty impressive start to his season.

Calvin Ridley would win the Biletnikoff if he had a better passing quarterback (I like Hurts, but he struggles with accuracy). Ridley has incredible footwork and great cuts. He's just not going to put up big stats in that Alabama offense, unfortunately, but the team that picks him up will be very happy with the skillset he brings to the table.

Was just saying in my thread it's a great class. You have some special talent to split out wide and inside.

RB too.

The league is and will be absolutely loaded at skill positions by next. RB'S will only keep changing the game.

Early binky this year:

Yup.

This is what a wrote not too long ago.

Quenton Meeks is son of Ron Meeks who played high school, college and pro ball in the cfl. Long NFL DC career.

Quenton plays like the son of a coach. His game screams patience and composure.

He plays very well in man with his back to ball. Very comfortable. Also has a great sense when to make a play on the play on the ball. Whether it's turning, leaping, w/e his timing is very good in that sense.

That alone will will get him attention from NFL big shots but his ability to play zone & off is where his pedigree comes into play.

His r/r (route recognition) and patience tells me he watches film and studies his opponents. Obvious football I.Q.

He's 6'2 200 also. But he plays like a much smaller guy and displays very smooth c.o.d. skills for a guy that size.

Very Reliable in run support.

+++ Ball skills & athleticism

Biggest area of concern of looking at is at the l.o.s. and ability to stifle his man. I want him to be a stop sign and jam the he'll out of opponents.

I wouldn't say hes "uncomfortable" there, more incomplete.

His body just isn't working together. He doesn't put it all together in that sense. Feet, legs and jam aren't fluid. At times he'll be to front loaded and back loaded.

If he improves in that area he'll be a great prospect. Already looks like a PTP.

A few more guys I'm watching:

LB Skai Moore (exceptional cover 'backer)
LB Lorenzo Carter (intriguing edge guy with cover skills)
CB Davonte Harris (love his football IQ and aggressive play)

I'm having trouble latching on to prospects this year the way that I did last year. There are a handful of guys I like, but I don't think I'll have quite as many draftable grades this year, although it's still early. We'll see how it plays out.

Love a few guys from that UG D.

Smith could be a monster. Looks like he could be a different cat. Was hoping he'd stay under the radar come April. No now if he comes out.

Got my on Carter too.

I don't believe the T steps were wide enough when he kicked out but that might have been him worried Chubb would kick inside and make a lateral move after faking outside? Either way his steps were too small.

Chubb gets off a nice burst, gives a slight/subtle hesitation move you can barely see before turning on the jets. Quick club and hes gone. OT lost position trying counter and Chubb blew by him

Chubb has one of the best Rip moves in college. Routinely puts linemen on his back.

Great hands & good at using them subtlety to keep defenders off him. Has tremendous body control and some wiggle in the open field. Plays to his size 6'4+/215 and is a monster with contested catches. Very underrated blocker as well. Extends those long arms and moves DB'S.

My #1 WR

Not mentioned nearly enough. Prob lighter then Thomas from last year but games are similar. He's a shooter that knifes through gaps with his great quicks. Motor is legit and he can rush from the edge. At times has some trouble with lead blocks but remember hes prob playing around 255 rn.

Looks great but what position can he play in NFL? And where he ranks at that position? He's not playing DL in NE..

Would love Dawson the player after Butler. Not sure about his character - much going on w him after the whistle..

BTW - Berrios filed his candidacy for the next NE udfa slot star the other night..
