Post Game Thread Pats @ Bucs

Wrong. People need to stop with sacks and QB hits as the only measurement for pressure. Multiple times pressure got to Winston and made him throw the ball sooner than he would have which resulted in an incompletion.

I did not see Winston being pressured. If you compare the pressure Brady faced Winston had it pretty easy.

Understand, and apparently you didn't read my entire post. Just saying that it appears to be a trend and something to monitor going forward.
How is it a trend?

Too many long drives

Troll says what?

Too many long drives? Tampa had 12 drives in the game and only 3 of them were over 50 yards.

Happy to get out of dodge W a win...get Gronkowski back, stay healthy, build on the D performance, and theyll be in good shape...

I swear, though, there's an edict from the league to call the Pats tight on every play

Lmao

Things I plan to look for as I re-watch the game film:

1. I want to take a look at our blocking on play-action plays. IIRC, at least one sack and a Brady fumble were on play action. Not sure if it a blocking issue.

2. I am going to try to keep track of the defensive coverages the Patriots used. Romo claimed they were in zone for the most part, but I would like to confirm it.

3. For the most part, the number of blown coverages were way down. I am curious if this is a function of the Bucs not employing the offensive concepts that gave us trouble: zone read/ run pass option, bunch formations, pre-snap motion from empty sets, etc.

4. I want to take another look at the Blown coverage when we had the Bucs downed inside the 5.

5. I want to compare the Bucs play-calling before and after the BB challenge on the sack .
There weren't any "blown coverages" that I saw. I saw no cases of someone playing the wrong defense.

On the play you are taking about it was 3rd and 4 or 5 and butler was literally 10 yards off the receiver. He even backed up pre snap. Winston caught the snap and immediately hit Jackson on a slant
Butler was not only so far off that he couldn't come close to affecting the play but he also got run away from for 40 yards

I did not like how they looked on the last two drives, which were what two of those came on. Perhaps it was fatigue?

Patriots won the game last I checked.

I didn't say they did not win! I said Folk played for the Pats. He won the game for the Pats. You know what happens if Folk just gets 2 of the misses I think he missed 3.

Captain David Andrews, Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Pats were called for hands to the face early in the game that kept a Bucs drive alive. Meanwhile, on that play you just showed, Andrews, right in front of the official, literally had his face mask and helmet ripped off his head. How was that NOT a penalty?

Then there was the Amendola ridiculous OPI on his spectacular catch? Really?

The Pats committed some STUPID STUPID STUPID penalties last night - the two roughing the passers at the end of the first half, and then the offsides on the punt, being the most egregiously stupid. But it's so frustrating watching things like I mentioned above take place week in and week out.

Ok, that being said, I'm thrilled with this win. Not that there aren't things to improve upon - goodness knows there are - but a win against a good team in their building without Gronk, on a short week...that's a quality win in the NFL. There isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't happily take that win last night under those circumstances.

Now they get 10 days to build on this and go play the Jets. I fully expect the Jets to play tough as usual against the Pats, but I also think at the end of the day, NE will handle them.

Good solid win last night.

No we don't know what happens because strategy would have changed had he made any of the FGs.

The entire game develops completely differently where our offense doesnt just go into a conservative time draining shell or where we punt from the opponents 35 ?

I dont live in an alternate universe where Folk hit one of the kicks so there is literally no way to know what would have happened. The only thing that is certain is that both teams would have called different plays and the rest of the game would have been completely different.

I'm just happy they came away with the win. I tend not to read too much into Thursday night games because they are all pretty bad at times. What you want is the W and no injuries. And now a nice long break to figure some stuff out. I'll take it.

No what would have happened? The patriots kick a FG instead of punting in the 4th? The patriots play more aggressively on offense? The defense plays differently because they aren't mostly protecting a 2 score lead?
This isn't madden.

I think that was the Brandon Bolden defensive offside on the punt that extended the drive after our D finally had a good 3 and out. BB was furious.

finally? What game did you watch.
Before that drive in the first 7 drives of the game they had 3 3 and out 2 4 and outs and the stupid roughing the passer drive before half. And ONE drive more than 4 plays.
Then they basically had 2 3 and outs on this drive.

Finally??? They had already forced Tampa to go 3 and out 3 or 4 times before that.

You trolls really need to up your game.
