What Eagle for Dion Lewis?

Trading for an eagle? Sounds like a golden opportunity...

I'm not 100% certain that trading for an accomplished veteran RB like Lewis is necessarily the Eagles' first option. I'd have to guess that they've had a lot of guys in for tryouts, just as the Pats have, and they could also poach a player of a PS.

Also, with Foster no longer available to the Pats, I'm not sure how eager they'd be to part with Lewis.

I'm not saying that it's NOT going to happen, just that there are other scenarios that may well be far more likely.

TE Zack Ertz or bust the Eagles would never fall for that though. This could be a Big opportunity for DJ Foster on our PS If the Eagles come knocking if I was him I would go.

Foster signed with Arizona last week.,.

If they were to trade Lewis to the Eagles, have it wash away the compensation for Rowe and send us a 7th in return.. *GRIN*

They should have a three team trade between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Philadelphia get Lewis, Baltimore gets Smallwood and we get back Woodhead. Hopefully Damien Woody and Ted Johnson announces this trade when it happens. What? Woodhead limp for the rest of the season? Well that sucks.

Somehow Ha Ha Clinton Dix has to be part of this trade, no?

Sproles out for year. What Eagle would you trade Dion, who played at Pitt, for? Trade makes too much sense. Reunion with Blount, etc.

Is Howie the Wunderkid desperate enough to send us a game changer on defense in return?

Am I missing something with the Pitt connection? Foxboro is closer to Philly than Pittsburgh is.

The Eagles are just going to move on to Smallwood to fill Sproles' role.

In a Madden world, I would offer Lewis for Vinny Curry to bring some depth and stability to the edge. Curry is somewhat expendable with the Eagles signing Long and drafting Barnett.

In the real world, the Eagles know that a defensive line rotation of Graham, Cox, Jernigan, Long, Barnett and Curry alone can be good enough to steal a playoff win. You don't move that kind of quality DL depth for a RB.

A trade for a draft pick only makes sense in Belichick is already planning on moving on from Lewis and is supremely confident that White/Burkhead can fill his role. It worked last year with Collins, but, for the Patriots, having the extra RB depth may be more important.

The 3rd down RB is the most underrated cog in this offense. The late '00's offense sputtered any time Faulk got hurt, the 2013 offense sputtered when Shane Vareen was hurt, the 2015 offense grinded to a halt when Lewis was hurt. If you trade Lewis, and the injury bug hits the remaining RBs, this offense is toast.

Keep Lewis. Before Burkhead went down, I was thinking we should trade him if we could acquire anything decent. But I don't think his value is very high and we don't know the extent of Burkhead's injury. Lewis is good depth, definitely keep around.

When defenses utilize their Bend n Break strategy, the pass catching RB has been free to roam. No team knows this more than NE

Let's keep Lewis. He can be great at times.

Sorta on topic: Man, Sproles broke his arm and tore his ACL on one play. That must of hurt like hell. At 34, it was his last year anyway but what a terrible way to go out.

I know SD just signed him and I'm not "Let's trade for this guy" kind of guy but Id love to see what they want for Ingram. Very underrated and pressure machine. They need a CB .....
