This. It will suck in the first half of the season, but so long as these aren't season-enders, and the injury luck can turn around in the back half of the season where the meat of the schedule is, they'll be ok.

I tell you the only team really to beat the Pats all these years is Team Injury.

We need to play the long game this season. We can't hope to be a 13-3/14-2 team if these injuries keep up. So why bother worrying? Let's aim rest players until they are 100% and risk being a 10-6 team. We've got a good shot of winning the division with that record, so I'd rather be unstoppable in the playoffs in wild card weekend than dead in the water as a division team.

I guess I've just given up on the player playing at a consistently high level, for several games in a row anymore. If he does, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Until then, my expectations are going to be extremely tempered.
