Perfect Brady Ending

Yes, because they'd be lying in the manner they've been coached. It'd be no different than "You can't judge that 0-15 team by the record. They've got a lot of really good players, and we're going to have to play our best to win.".
. And cliches are cliches because there is a certain Common Sense truth to them
So you think the job was open and garopollo could have beaten him out. I disagree.
I think you have to say that it is possible that a level of play development and physical Readiness of the part of Tom Brady could have opened a path for Jimmy Garoppolo to start.

Clearly and obviously the job is Brady's to lose. Does no possible situation exist in which he could have lost it? That's a matter of opinion but I do not believe that it is impossible. I believe that in Bill Belichick's Patriots it is always possible to find a way to play yourself out of a job

No

Cliches are cliches because of usage, not truth.

nonsense.

Brady works his tail off during those months off. It's not six, actually just a couple, mid-Feb to mid-April then some time off scattered around OTAs before training camp starts late July (see below). No doubt he works as hard as he does during the season, that's what makes him the GOAT.

From NFL.COM:
NFL announces offseason workout program dates

New England Patriots

Report: April 18; OTA Offseason Workouts: May 23-24, May 26, June 1-2, June 13-14, June 16; Mandatory Minicamp: June 7-9
Oh sorry he works 13 days from the SB to training camp.

What do you think he is going to do sit home at 40 and do nothing?
Few people who can retire at 40.

There is absolutely nothing that could have happened in camp other than injury that would have led bill belichick to bench Tom Brady for jimmy garopollo.
Nothing.

Usage is usage because of the truth in the cliche

No

Usage is usage because of usage.

This is basic stuff. "They're an excellent team" is often an obviously false sports cliche used to avoid saying things like "They suck, but they're on the schedule, so we'll beat their ass down and move on", for example. Are you really going to be foolish enough to keep arguing this?

Absolutely, that is why the competition was never an even, open, outcome-in-doubt competition.

Brady used to compete in practice with Ryan Mallett all the time, trying to toss the ball in the barell, 40 yards out. Brady loves to compete. Doesn't mean his job is threatened.

Of course. Thats not the question.

Tom knows if he shows major slippage or gets hurt its Jimmy's job indefinitely.

If Tom shows major slippage or gets hurt and the team is winning BB will start Jimmy indefinitely.

That is competition.

You think Belichick would bench Brady for Garrapolo because of a preseason performance?

Seriously?

But the conversation was competing for the job, not beers or ping pong games.

No it's not. It's a backup who needs the starter to get injured to have a chance to play.

So you think that if the team was 4-0 last year and jimmy was playing well Brady would have never gotten his job back? Honestly?

Where is this coming from because I sure as hell didn't imply it.

At the start of last season, Tom was not hurt nor had he shown a degradation in play severe enough to warrant BB a change.

Are we clear?

I never said that.

You said if garoppolo gets in the field and the team is winning Brady will not get his job back.
Being out for 4 games regardless of the reason is the same thing.

If Brady has a 4 game injury and jimmy plays great, you are saying jimmy keeps the job.

I said no such thing. Go back and read what I wrote.

Yep and what you said i said is not that.

Yep and what you said i said is not that.
I almost quoted it.
If the above is true then the suspension would have led to Brady losing his job if JAG played well.

Of course neither are true.
