Zeke Elliot suspended 6 games.

I actually agree...it's the courts job. SIX offenses? Throw this azzole in jail and make him navigate the system just like every other normal guy in America. WTF is this anyway, Zeke Elliot is some "special" kind of ****in royalty or what? I've seen enough of this clown to know he's a punk.
What he is is a guy rich enough to buy off every witness.

My concern is the police did not arrest or convict Elliot of doing anything. So what gives the NFL the right to hand down such a suspension. This is where I'm torn. The leadership of the NFL (Goodell) is so corrupt, I don't trust it in any way, shape or form.

But Now Cowboy's fans get to go through what we did for 2 years.

That's a great point. It's odd that a league can essentially suspend a player for reputational harm even though the person may not have done the act for which they are accused.

Here's the thing.

Eliot should have gotten 2 games for grabbing a stranger's breast and exposing it. NO ONE is denying that this didn't happen. Why should that assault be considered a prank by a 22 year old.

I think, very much like Rothlessberger's case, Elliot's DV is one of those situations where you know it happened, but you don't have enough evidence to prosecute. That's been kind of clear from the beginning. Now later on, this has become big business and the "fall guys" (the club fight) and pay offs are already in place to keep this out of the courts.

Now I'm not sure Eliot is simply a bad guy, or just a stupid and entitled jackass who could still grow up and become a good man. I'd like to think its the latter, but to me this 6 game suspension sounds about right; although I'm pretty sure it will wind up being 2 or 3 in the end.

All that being said, I HATE every comparison between this and Brady's situation. It is not even close, for all the reasons everyone here knows intimately. So regardless of what happens in the end, the FACT remains that Goodells actions have stamped the Patriots with the label of cheaters FOREVER. Make no mistake about that. Whether it is through haters who don't care about the truth OR the supposed "independant" journalists who will always praise the Pats, and then add that ubiquitous "qualifier" to remind us of the their sordid past.

BTW- I'm not so pissed that the franchise has to live with this. They are all getting paid very well and get all the glory. I'm furious that what Goodell has done has negatively affected every single fan of the Pats for over a decade. WE essentually were the ones left to fight the "battle", and deal with the angst that comes with it. We should never have had to deal with *'s or cheater labels, when we should have been able to simply enjoy the extraordinary run this team has had.

And I never really gave a sh!t about the money that was taken or even so much about the 4 game suspension those are just punishments that last just a moment in time. However the loss of all those draft picks are punishments that have had effects that could last years.

And we all know just how unjustified BOTH cameraplacegate and defamegate were, and how unpresidented the punishments were for no particular reason other to attempt to derail the train.

To me, the questions shouldn't be about Elliot's suspension, it should be about the Josh Brown deal and WTF is up with that. Is it really as simple as the DV person is a big Giants fan?

got to love the Dallas idiots. Brady gets suspended, the courts rule "Goodell can do anything he wants" and they all cheer. Not their guy gets suspended and they're all lawyers talking about why this is different and such.

Guess what Dallas....
You missed the point where the courts said "HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS" evidence and case does not matter. "HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS". Take it to court if you want. The courts have already ruled that "HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS". (lol)

That was what the courts said. They did not say Brady was guilty. They said "HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS". Maybe now you get it.

LMAO that this dislike war is still ongoing between you and Wheelman. What is this going on now? 6 months? Christ.
You'll have to ask him. He can end this any time he wants. He's obviously still butthurt over me proving him wrong over something way back when....

please God let it happen!

good thing is Jerry Jones is definitely a candidate to go Al Davis on Goodell. Jerry thinks the Cowboys are above the NFL and has the ego to take on this fight.

he doesnt care about burning bridges, all he cares about is the Dallas Cowboys

Yeah, I'm by no means a Jerry Jones fan, and I wouldn't in a million years trade Kraft for him, but I don't think he has Kraft's "do it for the good of the 32" in him.

It's funny, the NFL Constitution states that the league office must be in the same city as one of its teams. Which generally makes sense as teams are generally in big markets, and the real purpose of the league office is to be the league's marketers.

That said, this is the downside - the underling employees (not the Commish, but the full time staff) are all going to come from that area, and we've been seeing the terrible bias from the pro-Giant and pro-Jet fans who are in that office.

I kind of wonder if that clause is outdated. San Diego is a large media market, has no NFL franchise now and burned their Charger bridges; any full time staff hired from that So. Cal area right now will likely be only casual fan of whatever team they follow, and it's likely to be a random team. Maybe moving NFL offices there might help.

If you want to see every Chargers starter get hit with a simultaneous 4 game suspension, staffing the league office with San Diego residents is how you'd do it.

Interesting to read the Giants fan forum on the subject.

Zeke suspended 6 games

To summarize:
- the consensus is that the NFL must have had much more evidence than what they made public. (Sound familiar?) I had to laugh when one person wrote that "don't underestimate the type of investigation the NFL can undertake if they so choose. They basically have their own branch of the FBI these days".

Amazing somebody would say that considering the bungling of the two year PSI ordeal, and the botched Ray Rice investigation.

- expanding on the above comment, the same person claims that the NFL knew about what happened with Ray Rice all along, but were confident they could bury the story.

- the rare comments about John Mara's influence and the Josh Brown one-game suspension are briskly refuted and rationalized, end of conversation.

- the majority feel comparisons between Elliott's situation and Brady's are fair.

- one person brought up the St Patrick's Day parade (when Elliott pulled down the shirt of a girl he was with for about half a second), but said the NFL did not consider that as part of their punishment. If so, then why did they include it in their report?

- apparently to some this suspension means the Giants will be playing in the Super Bowl. (No mention of Seattle or Green Bay; apparently Dallas was the only potential roadblock.)

Roger Goodell says there were six offenses. Which means exactly nothing as far as I'm concerned. Maybe there were 6. Maybe there were 60. Maybe there were 0. I don't know the count, but I'm not going to believe a damn word Goodell/the NFL says about any of it.

Gotta love this BS. Elliot get's 6 games despite being cleared of any wrong doing.

Typical Goodell BS.

Have you spent any time in So. Cal? I spent 4.5 years than and to say that the people are only "casual" fans is silly.. The fact is that most of the football fans, and there are droves, are fans of other teams because most fans there are transplants. There are numerous bars in San Diego alone that cater to the football crowd and they were typically packed, especially if they served breakfast.

I'm just amazed that people in the late-90's were naming their kids "Ezekiel".

Mid-90s, thank you very much.

I grew up in a very Jewish area so it could be skewed, but I knew a lot of Zekes around my age growing up.
