This dude is going to have so much room to operate in this offense with Hogan's and Mitchell's ability to take the top off on the other side of the field and Gronk and Edelman attracting so much attention between the seams. You can already tell Brady loves working with him.

I think this is bigger for Hogan and Edelman there basically after thoughts now for defenses. You have to double team Gronk than use your number 1 on Cooks that leaves a number 3 CB on Hogan or Edelman. How do you choose, playing zone would be even tough too.

Van Noy doesn't make the team IMO. Outside looking in right now.
I think it's difficult to say that after the retirement of Ninkovich, no?

I made some comments a couple/few weeks ago about how I didn't believe that he'd make it, but I'm wondering if he'll need to step up front and try to help cover the loss of Ninkovich?

I don't take much of anything about Gronk from that. What I do take is that was a hotly contested throw and Brady had a ton of zip on it and that's the difference between Gronk catching it or it being deflected or picked.

Shows the ball is coming out as good as it has even been.

Great catch by Gronk too of course.

Great observation. That ball had plenty of zip on it or a.k.a. arm strength.

Joe from WBZ with some cool vids.

That's a sweet catch. There must be a relaxing effect in knowing you've already performed in the biggest game possible. I wonder if that mental ease allows Hogan to take his game to a higher level.

No matter how much Bortles may suck, holding a starting QB to 47% comp (with coverage sacks galore) is an impressive joint practice start.

I think the Pats will see a lot of Cover-2 shells which should mean field days for Gronk, Edelman, and Amendola.

Pretty much this. What will happen is there will be most likely 2 major mismatches for TB to choose from on each play.

Filthy.

Cover-2 is able to be exploited down the seam. That's where Gronk (even if he's double covered), Edelman, and Amendola will do most of their work. If defenses go into Cover-1, they had better be able to man up with Cooks/Hogan/Mitchell one on one or they're getting torched up top. I only see a few defenses that would be able to contain the Patriots offense from a personnel standpoint (able to generate a rush with four rushers, athletic linebackers, two very good corners, etc.).

It's going to be interesting to see how teams attack this offense.

injury watch

Lucien was seen grabbing and shaking his hammy on the sideline . a thing to monitor on Thursday . really hope he's good to go Thu

Harmon was back participating in team drills

14 players not practicing today is a lot . no major inj. (?Slater) is what counts

some rowe sighting hints he should be back soon id guess

There really isn't much they can do. That's not even including the backs. It really is scary. And to think guys like Mitchell are afterthoughts. Yikes.

It also isn't the fact that a team may have the personnel to match up at times. But if you keep rotating receivers/backs/TEs in and out, they are much fresher than the defensive personnel on the field. By the second quarter just about any D is gonna be gassed and then boom here comes Mitchell. Or Hogan.

Lots and lots of nickel. They'll likely sacrifice rushing yards and sell out against the pass. At least at first. That's why I think Gillislee will rush for 1,000 yards in 2017.
