interesting . good

Perhaps he's the elder statesman of the DEs and Kraft is telling him to be prepared to be that guy that his peers go to for advice. Just a guess.

Man these fans are weird. Cheering every catch when the DB's are not defending the pass.

This is an offense driven league. Just like "chicks dig the long ball" in baseball, fans dig the long pass in football. But they did cheer Gilmore breaking up a pass in a vid the other day.

Hagler-Hearns-Leonard.....the last great era of boxing IMO
Man, I couldn't agree more. I met both Hearns and Leonard right after the Mayweather v. Cotto fight in Vegas in 2012. I got a picture with Leonard, but Hearns only shook my hand before quickly being escorted out by his security people. He seemed in a rush. Needless to say, I was on a cloud the rest of the night, especially considering how many other people were trying to get them to come over. It was a great night.

Did we ever find out who was the new player at practice today, a WR wearing #16?

I was wondering the same thing.

I thought maybe DeAndrew White might've been called back in, but one would think that at east one of the regular Pats beat writers would've recognized him, so, maybe not.

More than likely a temporary Camp body, in any case. With Amendola and Mitchell not participating in padded practice, and Cody Hollister hurt, they're just short a body for multiple WR sets for the moment.

Wow. I think our fellow Garoppolites must be legitimately concerned about Jimmy G.

Three times more incompletions than both TB and JB??

JK
Only completing 77% of his throws. Terrible ...

Ok.

Burn his ass at the stake
He's not Mort but he's no Caesar's wife either based on his comments about Deflategate...... He toed the company line and quickly retracted his comments that Ravens owner Steve Biscotti (?sp) pressured Goodell when it was denied by him. Too bad others at ESPN weren't as fast at retracting false news...

Bedard noted that Lawrence Guy had another great day vs. the run & pushing the pocket. He was one of his 3 Up. That'd be sick if we found an Akiem Hicks type.

Obviously fans want pass rush from the edge, but a defense such as the 2010 Jets/2015 Broncos vs. the Pats that was rush 3 and drop 8 with an elite secondary could end a lot of offenses.

Coverage - especially disguised/unexpected coverages - plus pressure up the middle that deforms the pocket and leaves QBs with no "escape square" is what allows the edge guys to get home these days. Pure pass-rushing edge guys who can consistently get home on their own are rare and expensive and - if you have the first two things - you don't really need them. Better to have guys who can set the edge, defend against the run, drop into coverage and get pressure on the rush when the time is right.
