Dion Lewis strikes back at Andy Hart via Twitter:

A lot got lost in translation here.

"Lot in life," means station or position a guy has achieved, so I think Hart was just delivering a old-Sportscenter-style riff on Dion is the sauce rn. Lewis telling him to stop sucking him maybe means he didn't like how overtly Hart was complimenting him, or maybe he didn't understand what Hart was saying and thought he was hating. I myself didn't take it as Hart saying Lewis is coddled in any way, just that he achieved such status that he was going to these places.

"lot in life" doesn't carry the connotation of "achievement". it implies that your position in life is determined by fate, i.e. not through anything you do. the origin comes from "drawing lots" to decide something--in other words, by chance.

hart, whether he meant to or not, was basically saying that lewis was lucky to be in the position he was in and that he was making the most of it. if he really wanted to highlight lewis' achievements, he should have said something like:

From Fenway Park to the ESPYs, Dion Lewis enjoying the fruits of his labor.

edit: by the way, i like your pun:

Just wait - we'll get to listen to Andy Hart and Paul Perillo offer their inane banter and terrible commentary from the Bob's Discount Furniture Studio brought to you by US Healthcare during preseason games....they make me long for the days of Don Criqui and Randy Cross
Bingo. They've made listening to the PFW podcasts impossible for me. Two major asshats.

Lewis' "lot in life," is coming back from multiple injuries and, being 5'8", dominating guys twice his size. Yea, guy's been able to kick back and let the success come to him.

That's disrespectful to any player on this team, but seriously, Lewis? I don't get it. It's there something I'm missing?

The Muppet Shows equivalent of Waldorf and Statler.

Two grumpy morons that offer zero value.

What does that even mean, "his lot in life"?

Sort of like Lewis is taking advantage of his popularity even though he really hasnt done anything.

When was the last time Lewis had a game that everyone talked about?

Allllllll the way back to the 2016 Divisional game against Houston....I know, the 3rd to last game the team has played is eons ago

3 TD (1 receiving, 1 rushing, 1 return), the only player in NFL history to do all 3 in 1 playoff game. (first overall to do it since Gale Sayers in 1965)

Oops...:)

I am not saying that NFL players are heroes, but someone should put Andy Hart in the backfield on third down with Von Miller heading for the quarterback and only him in the way. A podgy dude who makes money off the players on the sidelines should keep a civil tongue in his head.

Nah man, Von will just make a move around him or just push him out of the way. What you want to say is Hightower or Collins. They'll just straight crash into you knocking you to the ground while they sack the QB.

Hart is a decent writer ,but over the years he's developed an on air personna of a loud mouthed bully who thinks if he talks loud enough he wins. He might give a intersting comment every now and then, but you can't listen to him for more than 10 minutes without wanting to punch him in the nose. He makes me ashamed to be a Tufts grad.

OMG - It just occurred to me that Mazzarotti is a Tufts grad too. God, I just had a sudden urge to go find my diploma....and burn it. :)

Im pretty sure he had a fumble for every touchdown as well in that game.

Just wanna make sure the full story of that performance gets told, both the good and bad

Dion's reaction is completely justified. Hart's out of line. What a piece of ****.

PFW has really gone down hill over the years. I heard Andy talking about peoples personal sexual desires or some ****.. and that everybody has something gross or embarrassing that they don't want to talk about. And he was grilling Paul to tell him what his embarrassing things are.

I actually stopped listening after that, it was a few months ago. I just found it bizarre. Andy is a strange guy.

I know its the off season and all and they probably struggle to find things to talk about but.. anyway.. PFW has gone down hill, Fred is no longer a funny homer, Eric has always been boring, Paul is a bitter guy it seems and Andy is a screw ball.

I will say to there credit they have been doing this for a long time. They are probably bored.

Lewis' "lot in life"??????

That's rich in irony because reality says it is the glorified intern Andy Hart who owes his livelihood to the players of the New England Patriots for their success in changing his career path away from writing about bake sales for the Framingham Gazette.

Seriously, are there any larger freeloaders in life than the PFW funghi? These town-paper rejects and their offspring should be delivering free pizzas every day to the players of the New England Patriots. They owe everything they have to them.

.

Perhaps you should ask a Patriots fan about this past season's AFC playoff game against the Texans........

Whatever the case may be, I don't know. But, you're right. I last listened a couple of months ago and was treated to Hart's clever, gigging double entendres about the varying types of flatulence aromas, anal sex and some other riveting topics. Perillo hates everything and the other two guys are walking insomnia cures. A few years ago, it was a good show. No longer.

That's something I forgot about when reading this thread and thinking about Hart's comments: He works for the Patriots! If the team was as bad as these guys act like it is, they'd be unemployed due to a lack of interest in the product or staffing cuts.

Is there a chance that, if there was a Cubs Baseball Weekly site/magazine, one of their employees is saying "David Ross needs to stop showing up at these awards shows."
